i think our batting will be found wanting. we survived a couple of times this ashes series on the back of rearguards by haddin and smith and johnson, i doubt philander and stein will let that happen.

our bowling attack should be good enough to take 20 wickets though, even against their obviously strong batting lineup, but will be interesting to see how the batting goes.

if we can get through the initial spells from stein and philander i think we have potential to do real damage, as petersen and parnell (or whoever the allrounder is) look ripe for the pickings, especially if warner gets to 40 odd against the new ball

Nah I had thought about him, was just more comparing the "bottom" of the attack to the top. Morkel is definitely a gun bowler too. But I think we can go after petersen and Parnell, but we have to get that far, and that will be the hard bit

Yeah i'm with you Jim. Henriques must bat at 6 as the genuine allrounder.

If he doesnt bat 6 no point bringing him in. Will be lucky to bowl a dozen overs for the test probably.

Marsh apparently was at 1st slip during the fielding drills at yesterdays practice. Could be a sign he's playing?
