Absolutely agree. Bat til tea, declare no matter what and back our strength in (our champion bowlers) to win us a series.

This current bowling group would be the best we could select?
India are playing with a 3rd rate side and the character shown outstanding .

Shastri has been the highlight with the game plan throughout the whole test series ... besides one innings ( as they say sh*& happens)
They have bowled consistently to all our batters.

On another note.. surely England can't choke

They are a better team all round, we have a better bowling line up (apparently), they have a better batting list.

I think we've become a bit too predictable with the ball, we bowl too short IMO as it tires the bowler out quicker, and we don't bowl with intent.

Even the Indian newcomers just nag away knowing we'll lose patience or they draw out an error in judgement.

I'll probably be a lone soldier here but I think Lyon is bloody lucky that we have no other spinner belting the door down ATM.

I'd actually play Pattinson ahead of Starc atm.

Hasn't been mentioned much but how is the test championship table affected by using drawing this test versus losing.

Is the test championship title worth more than this series trophy?

Agree re the comment about short bowling.

A) It didn't work on Monday where we bowled way too short all day

B) It didn't work yesterday

C) It reduces the potential modes of dismissal

D) The best short balls are the ones batsmen don't quite see coming. Use just enough to keep them on their toes.

One of the reasons Brett Lee's career fizzled out when he was only about 30 (I know he'd had injuries) was that he bowled relentlessly short. You're just not going to take many wickets bowling like that to specialist batsmen. And he stopped being effective because you don't take many wickets bowling constantly at that length.

I agree re Gaz, but the Indians shouldn't be too troubled by off spinners. He'll bounce back.

Probably, I'd say they'd be seething losing a test series at home against an undermanned Indian side, I can see us shutting up shop and trying to play for a draw if Smith or Warner aren't around to get us a quick 330 by 50 minutes into the final session.

Yeah I think your right, whilst as a spectator we want to see the win or nothing approach I reckon the test championship results might see Paine/Langer be 'slightly' more conservative.

To us, yes, to CA and the previous legends of game, a big no.

I'm probably late to the party, but credit where it's due - The Indians for God knows how many years were usually "All style, no substance" but they've displayed some real grit and fortitude this series.

Doesn't look like he got the review call in in time anyway. What a waste.

Agree 100%

Just think if we were playing their first XI.

I hate Warner as much as the next bloke but I don't reckon that review is his fault. From his perspective it probably felt fairly high and he wouldn't have known the extent that he 'crouched' down.

It would be interesting to know how much a players 'changeroom reputation' plays a role in what the non striker says. If that is Cam Green a lesser personality in the changeroom does Laba convince him to review.

I reckon back in the day no non striker would have had the balls to tell Alan Border he was plumb. :D
