Overnight rain has leaked onto the pitch.

Root and Bayliss not happy and speaking to match referee.

water leaked into it

unsurprising given the benny hill theme that was playing as the ground staff tried to cover it yesterday.

Looks to be an uncertain day ahead.

Ground staff have currently got 4 blower vaccs out on the pitch drying areas of concern. Pitch report is two 20cm Ø patches are of particular concern, the blowers appear to be drying the surface but underneath is a "sticky putty" according to Slats.

Umpires are going to be under the pump making a decision if and when the pitch is ready.

Light rain falling again as I type this, hessian cover back on.

Starc has a bruised heel and Bird will not play for the Sixers in the BBL awaiting a call up for the Boxing Day Test.

Did they actually ask the head clown just how the water got under the pitch, 9 interviewed him.

Bloody amateur's! Can't believe water got under it.
I know conditions were poor but surely the curator would have been checking?
The hessian looked drenched!

Embarrassment could be partially saved by the rain.

Should have set fire to it like they do in the Windies. Or the curator one of the two....
