Don't know if anyone picked up on Darren Close umpiring on Sunday, and the fact he has a long history of umpiring SA/Tas one dayers. He umpired the 1986/87 Final where SA created a then record domestic total of 6/325.

The Backs are BACK ;)

Get on em for the Marsh Cup / Shield double !! \:D/

I just call it how i see it.

Ferguson disgusting shot. Saw very little of the game but Head and particularly Carey must have batted well.

I actually defended their batsmen the other day despite Heads brain fad shot Sunday.

They're around the mark

The 2 chasing teams today combined for a score of 3/562

Geez it would be nice to see a young kid pushing up into our batting line up, are there any 19-22 yo's in the Redbacks squad that can push up?

Surely this type of comp is the perfect way to expose them?

Not sure who they might be looking at from recent U/19 carnivals? Capel, Dall - not sure what's around. Maybe a couple in the current u/19 set up might be looked at if they make some runs? Wonder if they might put them in Futures anyway to see how they go? I note in the local Messenger this week there's a few that have come over from interstate - perhaps they see SA as an easy target to try to get a contract?

Hell.
Has to Robins and Zampa ahead of Agar surely?

A line up of Harris, Finch, Maxwell, Pucovski and Handscomb could face SA, all the sides will have most of their test players playing-

Paine named for Tasmania but will not skipper the side, Wade is the captain.
Cummins and Hazlewood will be rested and won't play in round 1 while Lyon will miss because of an ankle injury.

Khawaja, Labuschage and Neser will all play for Queensland along side Burns and Renshaw so a possible strong top 6 for Queensland.

Bancroft will play for WA and Jhye Richardson is expected to make his Sheffield Shield return. Mitch Marsh will skipper WA.

Thankfully Agar 12th man.

Very long tail with Andrews at No.7, and light on in bowling talent too!

Could be in for a good old fashioned belting here!

How will we get wickets:

Richo - white ball specialist
WInter - Dukes ball specialist
Robins - honest, but not up to this level
Andrews - does not even spin the ball, not a four day bowler
Zampa - again, white ball better suited

Best three Shield bowlers all injured - Sayers, Mennie, Worrall!!

Adding to that I'm not sure who else is going around in grade cricket that would be considered at the moment. Agar might get a game by default?
