England 4/278 at stumps, trail by 138.
Brook 45* (51)
Stokes 17* (57)

Joe Root now has 11178 test runs, moving past Allan Border and into the top 10 most runs scorers in test cricket.
He's also taken 175 catches, now equal with Alastair Cook who has the most catches for England and the 6th most of all time.

Lyons injury is game and maybe series changing, he's your biggest advantage. I know you have Murphy as back up who's good but he's not Lyons level.

Nice to see Stokes but smart and read the game situation. With our tail the next two wickets are huge.

English top three batted brilliantly. Didn't go Bazball (except Pope just before he got out), but just looked to hit the ball and run with intent, including if it meant defensive pushes for singles. They found the right balance between not doing stupid stuff but keeping the runs moving so quickly it kept the worry on Cummins.

But WTF did our right handers bowl almost predominantly around the wicket to Dunkett?
Green is incredibly lucky Root didn't cost us heaps.
And just want to see Brooks stumps or teeth go cartwheeling

Be interesting to se the data from the cricket apps when Australia starts to wake up everyday, I know its the first app I go.

Looks like pretty much every batter from each team has got a start on this wicket so far, yet no ton's

England played better yesterday, got to give credit where credit is due

And If I'm criticising them for sloppyness and not getting the basics right you've got to can our blokes for some of the liens and lengths we bowled and the no balls.

Losing 7-100 on that wicket is poor cricket as well

The door should've been shut on this test after day one but we left it ajar and England walked straight back into it yesterday

Yep England's best day of the series so far and they've given themselves a chance to win this match. I reckon they'll need a first innings lead though, so the first session tonight will be extremely important.

Considering we batted the entire first day under lights, we have put in a decent performance so far. Every time England are batting, it seems the sun is shining bright. Let's pray for some cloud cover and humidity.

I still think it’s Advantage Australia or draw.

England over 100 runs behind, with a long tail, even if they go at 4 RPO it’s going to take the first session to level scores, and not convinced they have enough in the shed to build a comprehensive lead.

Only concussion

When he felt his calf go he should have thrown himself on the ground and said he suffered a head knock on the ground

Head and Smith should provide enough overs as spin options.

He does alright over there if not him Worrall then.

Siddle
5 games 16 wickets @24.12

Worrall
7 games 31 wickets @23.64

I would change it up more than Hazlewood did, top of off all day so predictable
