Cricket is the game requiring more mental applications than any other.
Khwajha showed what happens when you are not tuned in.
An absolute shocker in the field. And then nicking one he leaves every day of the year.

Australia 1/45 at stumps, trail by 144. A good day in the end after choosing to bowl first.

Turn back to 2018 with Sandpapergate. If you could forecast what the Test future would hold for both nations in the next 5-10 years I reckon you would pick the complete opposite. South Africa’s batting line up is embarrassing for any Test nation let alone one with such a high profile with good resources.

This is the weakest team I have seen South Africa bring to Australia.

As fans, we deserve better than what has been dished up this summer.

Agree totally.

Summer used to mean a country would tour and play a series of matches to get used to the conditions, play 5 tests (sometimes 3/4/6 but one time 7)
and with the advent of one day cricket a series with a third team.

Test cricket now is or at least seems to be fitted around many other competitions, not the least the T20 comps in India and Australia.

I accept that in years past there were also one sided test series (sometimes us!) but the format gave players a chance to develop as the series went on.

We valued the competition.

After the 1960/61 test series in Australia against the West Indies which included the famous tied test, the Australian public were so taken with the efforts of the West Indian team that a farewell parade was put on for them in Melbourne with thousands lining the streets.

When the Test calendar was set out almost a decade ago I doubt many would have thought South Africa would have dropped so far.

Too many players are focusing on the “easier” dollars of the T20. Currently there are at least three T20 tournaments being played with good money being paid, I would guess more than they would get to play Test cricket

Dunno if I totally agree with that. Their current scenario is clearly short sighted management of their Test line up and not blooding new players at the right times. When all these recent blokes retired they then replaced them all at once with inexperienced players that are just getting fed to the wolves. The West Indies have a better batting lineup than this mob.

Doesn't help de cock quit on them to get the cash. Then Markram just hasn't lived up to the hype since 2018 and there best bat last year in Peterson is out hurt.

Starc won’t play in Sydney and will only bowl in the second innings if required after he injured a tendon trying to take that catch yesterday

He was only a tad short, he stopped and hesitated.

Marcus should’ve said “no” given the fact he had over ran the initial single.
