So who would have thought balls around off stump going away and In Swinging Yorkers get batsmen out

Especially if you go fishing second ball. Hardly an unplayable pill that got him in the first dig and not the first time we've seen that dismissal with Marsh either.

I think what we've found out about Marsh is that like his debut innings in Sri Lanka, he does bugger all else afterwards. This tour is like history repeating itself...

What would you rather, someone who makes elegant runs once in a blue moon, or someone who makes ugly runs at a first class average of 45. Get him back in the team!!

(Having said that I think they are going to bring Hughes back to open once rogers retires so long term it might be better to get another middle order batsman in there like Doolan. But not marsh!)

Spot on, I quite like Hughes' grit, and I agree that he should open or not play at all.

Cant see that because IMO Clarke wont lift himself up the order.
Watson and Doolan straight swap at 3 for me.

I agree, that's probably what will happen.

But I think Clarke is best used at 4, and I wish he'd be more willing to do it.

They confirmed before the start of the series that watto was going to bat at 6 before he got injured, so not sure whether they will think differently now

Clarke
Watto
Smith
Haddin
Johnson
Harris
Lyon
Siddle

Give the kid ( hughes )a go didnt he do really well last time and he turns the strike over and hits boundarys.. clarke has to bat at 4 imo.. if watto can come in at 3 for a few he just might do some damage when the balls a bit older...

Don't mind it. Great ton by Marsh in the first test but not sure what rational argument would have had him in the team before South Aussie Phil
