The pitch will not allow you to dominate the bowling for long. So back to basics, keep out the good balls, hit the bad ones.

I agree.

But... warner...

But what

I was always going to jinx him

Has the pitch settled down or are we just playing more mature shots?

From what i can gather from watching on my phone, we have batted pretty well. But we have also had our fair share of luck, at least 1 dropped catch, and Khawaja just french cut one over the stumps

Bit of both plus the fact that after Boult and Southee their bowlers are mediocre. Couple of them wouldn't trouble a district side

Warner Smith Khawaja all playing close to their natural games , as they most probably should
Smith lucky at times
Khawaja playing well enough
Warner happened to get out

What can Smith achieve in the next 2-3 years, if he continues in this vein of form?

The problem for the bowlers is he gets to 20-25 so quickly he's set within 15 minutes of scratching centre into the pitch. Most batsmen fart arse around for half an hour, maybe look set when they're 35-40. Smith walks out, punches on through midwicket from the second one he faces and he's away.

2015 was a pretty special year for him, '16 could just be massive.

Thats a great point. He is just so good at manufacturing singles he never gets bogged down. Would be so hard to bowl to

Umpire calls a no ball, Voges gets bowled, and it turns it out his foot was massively behind the line!

Terrible decision by the umpire, the Kiwi commentators are livid

Not good enough. Scoreboard operator will be sacked for not getting that replay up in time.

2 things I find hugely humorous like normal on this forum.

Warner hits that for 6 you all call him a hero he gets out and his a 'spud'
And the No-Ball, Reverse the sides. If that was against Aust. Minimum of 6 pages of tears.

It is odd

If a wicket is taken on an umpire called good ball they can check and call a batsmen back if it is a no ball

If a wicket is taken on a umpire called no ball they can't check and give a batsmen out if it's not a I ball

Happens on every sports forum everywhere in the world

I think only one person called Warner a spud and others commented it was a shit shot which it was by virtue of him getting out to it

Can't say I'm upset about the Voges decision - it seems a case of karma for the Kiwis.
But...there were plenty of people on here saying the right decision had been made in the Mitch Marsh replay decision and "play on", it wasn't all one-sided debate.
I would like to see the right decision made. In this case the wrong decision was made. If people think that decision should have been reversed - the rules need to be changed, just as they need to be changed if we're going to allow umpires to change their minds on decisions due to in-ground replays.
