Marcus Trescothick is the wrong side of 40 beaten the black dog and still churning out runs in Div 1.....must be a liability in the field though.

Plenty of years left for Cossie!

Is there any chance Cossie could force his way into the England side?

Everyone catch up with the heroics of 45yr old Darren Stevens a couple days ago?
He made 190 batting at 7 with 15x4 and 15x6 and then dismissing Marnus again.

Him and his no10 batting partner set a new world record in 1st class cricket. coming together at 8/128 they put on 166 for the 9th wicket. That in itself is nothing special, it was what the no10 didnt do that made it a world record, his lowly contribution of 1 run to the union creating the record for biggest percentage of a partnership by one batsman for any partnership over 40 runs.

He has taken 19 wickets @ 20 this season, not sure he would get too many of us out :D

Been some massive scores in County Cricket in recent weeks
This one tonight
Leicestershire 584
Glamorgan in reply 5/795   They were 2/9 !!! then 5/334. They Declared on this score with Sam Northeast on 410* n.o. and wicket keeper Chris Cooke on 191* n.o. Bet he wasn't too happy. If they batted on Northeast surely would have been a big chance to break Laras record 501.

Durham elected to field first in a County game at the Oval against Surrey which started on Sunday.

It's fair to say that the Durham captain may have had a few regrets - Surrey declared at 9/820.

You read that right. Nine for eight hundred and twenty.

At stumps on Day 3 Durham are 9/343 in reply.

The Durham captain is former England opener Alex Lees and Surrey is captained by Rory Burns. Another former England opener Dom Sibley made 305 and three other England players made hundreds for Surrey, Sam Curran (108), Dan Lawrence (178) and Will Jacks (119). Lees did make a hundred (125) in Durham's innings.

Isn't the UK in the middle of a declared heatwave?

Lowest first innings score in all games this round was 205 by Div 2 leaders Leicestershire, then followed up with a similar score in the 2nd dig to lose by an innings and 127 runs at home!
