Watched Trinity v Lutheran on Saturday.
Trinity looked really good and dominated the first two and a half quarters, with the Dogs unable to find a match for Cotter up forward.
He was banging them in from everywhere.
However, for much of the third term, Lutheran dominated. The only reason they didn't take the lead in the term was due to continual turn overs at half forward. Some goals late in the term put them in touch, when beforehand, Trinity looked as if they were going to run away with it.
The final term saw Lutheran make the most of its forward entries to sneak the lead, while Trinity was getting plenty of I-50s but no shots on goal.
As in other weeks, according to the Trinity guys I was standing with, the last quarter fade-out was something that had been seen before from this side.
Matt Perry added a clutch goal to gain the lead back for the TOSers but the Lions were unable to hold off the Dogs, despite their opportunities.
The winning goal was a stinker (from where I was standing), almost as if the kicker stubbed his toe, and the ball trickled over the line to put Luthies back in front. But...it doesn't matter how you get them.
The result makes it very hard for the TOSers to survive the fall, giving AL a two game gap on them.
Biggest disappointment in the day for me was that Choof Edmonds did not have more of an impact on the game
