Lucrative offers, eh? With what little cash the club has to spare will go to the current playing group. At the moment the club is finalising details regarding increasing best player awards and implementing awards to the A Grade 21 for every win.

Sweet....heard some of my lads may have been on your hitlist, HANDS OFF :D

I was told a couple were going to leave. I assume the ex-SPOS player who played for us last year asked one of these fellas if he'd like to come to Houghton for a run. IMO, was never going to happen with both clubs in the same Div though.

Nobody is leaving anymore
Is the ex-SPOS player going to be continuing playing next year that you know of? I'm sure he'd love to play against us and i think we'd love to play against him :D

Couldn't tell ya what he's doing, haven't seen him since presentation night. I imagine that if he decides to keep playing he'll stay out at Houghton as he likes seems to like it there and gets on well with the other older fellas.

Cougar wrote:Has Div 7 next year got some ex Kersbrook Connections?

Whisper I heard was that ex Brookers Mak 'Cabbage' Kamenic (A grade) and Ben 'Rex' Hunt (B grade) are the Coaches at Houghton, while Paul Niven and Ash MacDonald had the respective gigs at St.Pauls O.S. Could be way off the mark, but would make for some intersting duels between the ex team mates in the Houghton v St.Pauls O.S. derbies.

Looks like Kersbrook won't need to lease Houghton's Oval next year with the repair work done to Kersbrook's Oval, however I understand the Cricket Club will still use Houghton Oval during Summer.

Can confirm the Houghton coaches. The local derbies were always going to be a highlight, but if Nivo and Cab go head to head, look out! I reckon we make it an Anzac Day clash!!

Good to hear about your oval, although having you use ours for those couple of games was a real money spinner for the canteen. Pity the cricket doesn't attract the same numbers.
