Well done and congratulations to Fraser Marshall on being joint winner of the Div 2 Medal (equal with Angus Twopeny, Scotch). For a little guy he plays some tough footy.

Are the results from the whole division available anywhere?

Angus Twopenny (scotch)
Scott Burnett (broadview)
William Hugo (paoc)
Fraser Marshall (walkerville)
Jack O'Leary (pnu)

From us I think it will be an even spread of votes but think Nick Forster may be out dark horse to poll well.

Pretty happy with my predictions, the two winners and the bloke that finished second by a vote.

Now just need the lads to get over the line Saturday

(liked the accuracy of your predictions, don't particularly care for your Grand Final hopes ;))

So excited for tomorrow, beautiful day for it too.

Just read the Sports Beats' description of PNU's recent history of failing on the big stage.

Please tell me no money from our calls goes to this?

ooh, god forbid anyone say anything negative about PNU

I don't think amateur league calls should be used to fund works of fiction. If I was referring to any other club you'd find it a plainly reasonable position, but due to your laughably jaundiced viewpoint you can't see the wood from the trees.

I think it's a misuse of the funds. I also think SportsBeat in general will tell you anything more than what you learn from reading the scores in the Sunday Mail.

Well if you think its a misuse of funds, tell Owen to bring it up the next delegates meeting.

What do you think whinging about it on here is going to do.

PS: As you may be aware, I know a thing or two about the history of the club. If I actually read it and though it was crap, Id also say so.

My viewpoint is not as jaundiced as you believe it to be.

Without getting too involved in this little stoush I will say that I have worked with and do rate the analytical ability and general writing and editing of Steven O. But in this case his article is well below his best efforts and contradictory to facts and stats. It irritated a few and bemused others as this club of "chokers" as we were labelled is in fact going for back to back premierships. A feat that has been achieved previously during the tenure of Macca.

So perhaps you should have read it before offering comment?

In any event your constant retort of "What do you thing whinging about it on here is going to do", something you resort to daily is absurd.

It's a discussion forum, I obviously intend for it to be discussed.

I said I didn't read it in my first post. You're asking us to discuss something based on none of us reading it.

As Trader suggested, it might be an idea to post a link.

Chances are I'll then completely agree with you.

FFS.

You had a crack whilst acknowledging you hadn't read it. FFS.

http://www.saafl.asn.au/uploads/News/pdf/the_bounce_18_september_2014.pdf Page 5.

I particularly find a bit fanciful:

"While the Falcons have risen through the ranks of the amateur league, there is a history of losing on the big stage"

"Payneham Norwood Union have set itself for this encounter from a long way out and will be well aware of past failings it will be out to rectify"

The listing of the players who have made each side's best players in their last few games must also have taken substantial research.

Good lord.

Besides the obvious failing back in 09 (or whenever it was -the Broadview one), he would've had to go back to early 2000's (The Turic era) to get any history of any viable shortcomings come finals time.

He potentially could've saved himself by backing up his claims with stats,, however he then would have to be talking about a team that is predominantly now playing C grade.

Maybe he got you confused with Seaton

All in all it's a sideshow, but he's undoubtedly digging into the distant past.

Couldn't be more excited for tomorrow, should be great weather that I would think will suit both sides fairly well.

Looking at the scores the sides have been kicking (particularly SHOC of late) you wouldn't be surprised to see both sides crack the 3 figures.

PAC too good in the reserves to win by 4 goals. PNU kept with them for 3 quarters but PAC too much class
