In terms of flying under the radar, looking at the suspensions, what on earth happened to Scotch on the weekend?

3 + 1 dismissed, total 10 games.

2x for striking
1x abusing umpire

Yep, thats been an interesting one for me. First couple of rounds i was passing off unexpected losses as the Covid curse but now we are 4 rounds through i am starting to reconsider that theory.

Have Morphies picked up some quality but loss depth around them? We make our trip out there this weekend and it will be my first game against them ever and i started senior footy back in 2004!

M/Park have lost over half of last years premiership players, was always going to be dependant on how good this years recruits are. Possibly missing a few key players atm but I suspect all clubs are. Looks like we have a clear standout on top 10 goals better than the next and then a couple of teams who haven't got firing yet.

I see they have lost a few key players from last years grand final win & there depth was always a big problem last year. But i thought the signing of barns & so on would mean they would be more then competitive this year.

Morphies have never had depth.

their C's and B's have historically sucked.

Wow 1/4 of the season already done. As expected Golden Grove are a fair way ahead of the rest at the moment. Currently 8 goals is about as close as anyone has got to them this includes Modbury and Flinders Park both who were expected to be the biggest challengers. Modbury have put their hand up to be the no2 seed atm but you could argue they have had decent draw to start the year only losing to GG and accounting for 3 teams not expected to feature in the finals. Edwardstown have made a strong start and their win over Flinders Park has catapulted them into the mix, they have some handy SANFL experience throughout their side and appear to be well drilled. Flinders Park were all the talk preseason with GG and are yet to hit their straps, I have no doubt they will be there at the end when the whips are cracking. They have way to much top end talent for D3 not to be a serious threat.

The rest are competing to avoid relegation and to make up the final spot in the 5 and I doubt any of them can compete with the top 4. At this stage Scotch and CBC look the most likely to be heading down however I suspect injuries and unavailability will play the biggest role in deciding who stays and who goes.

I've heard both the coach and the assistant coach (who was standing in during the suspension), were given a polite thanks, but DCM...

What did do to get the suspension any way? Pretty rare to see a senior coach get one these days.

Agree.. for as long as i can remember, Flinders Parks Ressies and C grade have been a force.. that seems to have dropped away this year. Not sure if some of the older gen have pulled the pin or some of the amazing depth theyve had have looked elsewhere for opportunities.

Most ressies sides would have breathed a sigh of relief when flinders looked to be less dominant, but then Golden Grove have well and truly picked up that mantle!
