I do enjoy watching opposition bring their physical game out against our lads thinking it will bully them off their game. Our A's and B's really stood up against that yesterday.

Pultney beating Elizabeth must have taken a few by surprise. Good on them.

Having a look at results from round 1, again it looks like that D5 is going to be the most closely contested grade. NO blowouts, which is good to see.

What do we make of the elizabeth and pulteney score are elizabeth not that good or are pulteney a serious contender this year? Did anyone see the game?

All 3 grades with a first up win. Pulteney's kids from last year will be better for the run in D5 this year.

Round 2

Who wins and why?

Elizabeth V's CBC: Elizabeth to bounce back after a shock loss to the preseason favourites to collect the spoon and to win by plenty! Eliz 12 goals

Greenacres V's Pulteney: Greenacres to open there account at home, Pulteney might have just had a day out last week or have they turned the corner? Greens 8 goals

CLG V's Blacks: CLG are the real deal this match is sure to be the match of the round with Blacks looking like they will be around come the pointy end as well. CLG 3 goals

Lutheran V's Rosewater: Lutheran were competitive and could have grabbed the win last week and should provide a challenge for the dogs but the dogs will be too big and strong. Dogs 10 goals

Para Hills V's Woody Sth: Para Hills to account for Woody STH pretty comfortably as the Roos are expecting to be a force this year. PH 8 goals

Please discuss..........

keep in mind i haven't seen D5 footy for a couple of years but i thought you were pretty good. It was a good game to watch and i thought the pressure from both sides was good. it was pretty even game in the middle but, apart from Smith in the 3rd quarter, our backs were on top most of the game.
I'm glad the player count didn't affect the result.

heard all day from the CBC boys that they had 10 out etc. think one of the players or ex players had a wedding? There was enough there from CBC to suggest that IF they did have that many out that they will be a finals contender. Will still say elizabeth to open their account by 18 points.

Greenies v pultney - really not sure what to make of pultney after the results. will say greenies at home by 15 points but i really have no idea about this one. will be very very interested in the result

Was really happy with the way we played on the weekend, very solid 4 quarter effort by the boys. Think we will get over the line but will be a lot closer than last week. 24 points

Luthies v rosies - would have to say rosies should win this pretty comfortbly but again not really sure, too early in the season for certainties but rosies by 40 odd

Para Hills v woody sth - Para hills at home were a different beast last year, would have to think they will get the win over woody south pretty easily. 35 points

We're also fully aware that BOS are not a team you can intimidate, lots of old heads that are far too clever for that to put them off. Looking forward to renewing our rivalry on saturday. Few familiar names in that side, how different is it to the grand final side from last year?
