8.6.2 A registered player who achieves 25 Matches (without transferring) for the same Affiliated League Club will reduce one (1) additional point the following season after achieving 25 Matches..

This would seem to make much more sense? A bloke worth 5 points coming from AFL shouldn't become 0 rather than 3 after a couple of seasons.

Yeah, must admit as generally we're talking about 3 pt players, not 5s, I was thinking of a 3 pointer, not AFL.

IE: 3 points in first year.
2 points in second year.
0 points in third year (they get 1 years service deduction and 25 game deduction).
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Glenunga already playing with 12 points without Read and Teasdale too (http://websites.sportstg.com/round_info.cgi?c=1-114-0-428911-0&pool=1&fixture=124812441&a=PPA#/)

Assuming I'm right and Kornes is worth the whole 5 one would think they'd struggle to fit him in.

Teasedale isn't playing and Harin is back at Sturt. With a couple of under 18's already in the side Read and Mr Cornes fit in perfectly.

Oh what a massive get!!! The guy is a spank

Hopefully he takes his footy comeback a little more seriously than his career in the MFS. Would hate for him to lose interest after a week.

Realised he couldnt cut it, like his last year of AFL

I have no doubt he will do what's right.....by him. It's his trademark.

Of all the players at the hundreds of clubs I have met across all competitions and all levels this guy is on the shit bloke podium. The most self absorbed and self centred individual I have had the displeasure of being associated with. Even worse than Dangerflog.

Maybe he has changed and is doing the right thing by a community club and if that's the case that's awesome and I will reconsider my opinion but there has to be plenty in it for number one.

It's a massive get for any div 5 club who can convince an All Australian to play for them. But I wonder how his playing style will go in Div 5? I remember Roo playing Div 4 but they plonked him at full forward left him 1 out & went to him every time. They were all contested possessions, he won maybe 2/3 contests & broke even for the other. Great great recruiting by PAC, he was a game changer.

I know it sounds a little stupid but I've seen good A grade footballers struggle in Lower grades. Get to the right spots but their hard work isn't rewarded. Get given a hospital ball get cleaned up, hand pass is behind them, kick is over their head. Then the frustration sets in.

One would also think that of all the Ovals in the Adelaide Footy League, Glenunga would be one that Kane would be less suited too. Particularly in the middle of winter.

So much anti-Kane rhetoric. He's a different kinda cat and was utterly devoted to his football. He's also not someone I would call a people person. But you know what, that probably describes me too! Not everyone has to be a good bloke cobba beer swilling yobbo at the front bar talking shit to be a good person.

I've had a few dealings with him and he has always been cool.

Good on him for contributing back to local footy.

Any bloke that gets in someone else's car and puts his feet on the dashboard is far from a good bloke or as you say....cool

Quit the MFS
Quit his club mid-season
Will Quit Glenunga as soon as it gets hard, doesn't suit him or something doesn't go his way.

As I stated in my original post if he goes out and plays and gives back to the community and takes the good with the bad and sticks it out I will tip my hat and say well done Mr. Cornes. "I like so many others including your ex team mates were wrong about you."

I completely agree with the sentiment in your last statement, I just need to see him do it first.

I've never met the guy but he is a Cornes I guess so assume the apple wouldn't fall far from the tree.

Are these thoughts shared widely amongst both the on and off field community at GFC?

I actually like Graham and Chad just for the record and wont say a bad word about either.

I have no idea and cannot speak for others. These are purely my own thoughts and feelings. I'm hoping he wins me over with a big season at the Rams. I just cant see it happening.

Probably because we picked up Jay Hansen who was at the Bays. Lets move on....

1 v 2 this week at Lockleys Oval looks like a cracker.
Whilst the quintessential must win game of the round appears to be Rosewater v Woody South

Lockleys will have no issues beating BOS, and Woody South will be too strong for Rosewater

Kenilworth & Greenacres unfortunately appear likely to remain in the bottom two spots.
