So the way I'm reading each team will play one other club 4 times, every other club twice, with two byes? And even though its an eight team comp, makes sense to keep the final five to align with A/B grade finals.

Genuine LOL, week 2 sees Smithfield and Eastern Park have a bye.

I certainly appreciate how difficult it must be in programming the division particularly when a club pulls it's side out at late notice but I find the draw very odd with teams playing one side four times and the other six teams twice.
Depending on where sides are close to finals time but it could mean either playing or missing out on finals due the unevenness of the draw.

That’s better than them playing each other 6 x times as was originally proposed!

I believe the feedback from most clubs was they didn’t want the extra byes after Trinity pulled out so the league has accommodated that request the best they could

Yeah, it would be a logistical nightmare, I guess if they really wanted to they could have a trial against each other and a few beers afterwards.

Came up against Pulteney in C5 today.

Wow that is a good side, will be very difficult side to overcome.

Very proud of the fight the Kenilworth boys showed today, a lot was learnt.
Pulteney C grade beat us by 30 goals last year and I thought we were competitive in patches today and halved that margin this time round.

C5 should be interesting with them, HV & Salisbury

We were the whipping boys of C1 a few years back, good to see numbers are strong and the side winning games over the last 2 seasons

question: I should know the answer but dont

I know the umpires in C Grade are mainly "Club" umpires.

do they have the power to red card and send players off.

I watched a C Grade game today and saw 2 incidents (both in the play) that if they had been in Div 1 or 2 they would have been red carded and for one a substantial suspension. Apart from a free kick being given in both cases nothing else was done

Yes we can do Red Cards.

If they get a yellow early night deter from something bigger happening.

i know its only C grade but to make it stronger in some Divs how about they drop the 2 bottom sides in C5 to C6 and put the top 2 teams in C6 into C5

Because clubs will complain that they don’t have the support staff to separate teams

Clubs want triple headers and HQ have been told by clubs to pair C5 up with Div 5 and so on

I reckon you’ll find that being at the same ground as the A's and B's, is more a priority than a strong C grade.

Why don't we just not keep score at all and then everyone just "participates"

guess we found out who wants to win a C grade flag again rather then having strong C grade comps there are already less teams this year and will be even less before the season is out if you put shit teams in the same div and quality teams in the same div makes it more appealing doesnt it ?

In 2018 there were 56 x teams across 6 divisions
In 2019 there are 65 x teams across 7 divisions

Pooraka pulled out this year, but Golden Grove and PHOS both added extra sides, so there's actually 1 more team than we started with.

But keep telling us your cool stories

Can Be hard to get numbers at times when travelling, and knowing it will be a belting.
It is a very lopsided competition at least in some of the Divisions.

Unfortunately though this is how it needs to be. Triple headers are the way to get people out, have a kick and then a beer and watch the A/B grades.
Some teams have alot of young Men learning the game (ours is one of them). Some teams are lucky enough to have some great players from a few years ago that have decided to hang around and keep playing.

Its always going to be very difficult to have parity, so probably best to deal with how it is now.
