I think you both have a bit of a 1 + 1 = 3
The last email to all Grand Finalists and 9th and 10th on the 30th September read;
From the pen of the CEO
Hi all.
To be in receipt of this email would suggest your club has completed the 2020 season as a Grand Finalist or in the last two positions on your respective Premiership Ladders.
In any other year, that would indicate either Promotion or Regulation as per The League’s Rules and Regulations.
To reaffirm, The League in consultation with all clubs, froze promotion and relegation for 2020.
However we also left the door ajar for any club who based on their own circumstances or knowledge of their club could seek relegation on the proviso there was a willing member club to be promoted.
Some Grand Finalist clubs have indicated a will to challenge themselves in a higher division in 2021. Those clubs are cognisant of the fact that the opportunity may be lost this year for the reason stated above. The general narrative is some are willing to be promoted however if a club is to seek relegation, that collaboration is not open ended i.e. They will not enter conversations in February 2021.
The League remains open to those clubs wishing to enter discussion even if only informally however we will not continue to drive this discussion point rather from here on, rely on any club to seek the League out for discussions.
Consistent with Club and Team Nominations, we propose October 31 2020 to be the deadline for any further discussion to this matter.
