To be fair I was more highlighting the unusual arrogance that arose from these comments.
For what it's worth, I thought Fitzroy were good in the first half of the B grade - dominated the midfield and had smart older players up forward.
The A grade jumped out the blocks and led at quarter time but fell away viciously.
Definitely challenges for Ingle Farm to over come in the latter part of the season, consistency is our biggest focus.

I must say though, perhaps Fitzroy would be better served investing their time in the under 18 kids, they had a couple of very good ones today especially one young fella who played B grade for 3/4 and then a full A grade game. African lad I'm guessing? (Apologies if I'm wrong). He was incredibly athletic and strong for his size, tackled well and was fit. He was probably their best player in the B grade.[/quote]

Yeah PG this is the first time I've been able to play some U/18's boys this year & it was great to see them hold their own the young African lad Mohammed Dolley was best for us today in the Ressies & after 2 x games today he will be backing up in the U/18's tomorrow think he is only just turned 17 yrs old & only been playing footy for 3 yrs now.
My Ressies boys battled on to give your boys a contest for 3/4's but unfortunately couldn't maintain this & the class of your side really stood up when it counted as you have a quality forward who kicked 9 goals with your ruck man, midfielders 3 & 7 were very good.
In the A's the big fella up forward kicking 12 was hard to stop but also thought 15 was impressive around the ground your midfield was were solid winning clearance after clearance even of our ruck man winning most taps, good to see Andy Curyer enjoying his footy playing his part as he played for me last season & is a classy player.

We as a club have our challenges ahead to turn things around but in saying this on the ground it's still 21 vs 21 so there is no excuses.
Your boys stuck to your structures very well in both grades & will play a major part in this seasons up coming finals & good luck for the rest of the season.
IT'S US AGAINST THEM!!!

finish in 6th to 10th this season unfortunately face playing div 7 for a season. the div 6 premier will go to div 5 but no one else (7 pure agrade divisions)

that should turn up the heat for the finals race wont it :p

the following season the top 3 in div 7 can return to div 6 as a one off to sort proper standings throughout the divisions.

so ya better get moving lads! finals or brink :p

Am I correct in thinking that if the season ended today, Rosewater would be able to host a triple header at home (B & C v Ingle Farm) because their A grade finished second, despite their B/C finishing 3rd?

And the same for West Croydon?

That's a pretty good opportunity for a club to host 3 finals games, would surely be a good money spinner and make for a cracking day!

The only reason you wouldn't get C is if the A grade side of the side who finished 2nd also qualified for a home final and wished to have a triple header.

In this circumstance (if the season ended today), Ingle Farm finish 2nd and Rosewater 3rd in the two lower grades, therefore Rosewater can apply for a triple header is that correct?

Sorry you seen it that way, I was actually complimenting the quality of these under 18's kids who stepped up to play in the seniors, and suggesting that the senior sides might be better served in the immediate future playing these kids, especially given there is an apparent declining interest from the senior players as pointed out in a previous post:
Slowey wrote:in depth conversation with a Fitzroy die hard I'm told they had 3 A grade players to Tuesday's nights training and had up to 9 first choice players out of the A grade side that played today.

Playing in our 18's. Our 16's this year are 1st year 16's and a number are under 15's, unfortunately we have some gaps in junior age groups which means kids are playing up. Our 15's group last season struggled after playing out of their depth, so it's no surprise that this season with another step in grade and topped up with a lot of younger kids again that they are having some difficulties.
