All 4 sides were up for the fight Saturday and reflected on the scoreboard. Was an enjoyable day.

Even talk like an experienced A grade coach now :P ;)

Doesn't even crack any jokes anymore. All professional now.

Pretty sure he even recorded the game to review it all AFL like with the players on Tuesday.....

Speaking off recording the games, has anyone else noticed Trinity put two go pros on the coaches box to record the game and then dont turn them on? Even know their coaching staff let the umpires know quote a lot during the game that it is being recorded?

Not to gloat as we still battle with discipline and it's only an anecdote but as Mitchell Parks B grade coach last year, we had a couple of guys that always made me nervous. I would suspect we all would. One day one of them (and one of our better players too) was ... "on heat" so to speak. He tried to do something that had he been coordinated enough could have really hurt the guy. None of the on-field players or umpires saw it but myself and a few watching A graders did.

Dragged him instantly. Told him to sit on the pine for the rest of the game and in no way was he going back on. Very publicly dressed him down and then internally banned him for two weeks. It was a sobering lesson for him as he figured since he didn't connect and the ump didn't see it that there was nothing to really answer for. He was a saint for the rest of the year.

It was less about him as much as it was about exhibiting to all players, both the watching As and his team mates, that violence of any kind is absolutely not to be tolerated at our club. You have to get in front of this stuff as a club and be proactive.

This is excellent to hear

BRAHMA LODGE v PULTENEY
Summary
Top versus second and it promises to be a beauty. Pulteney coming off a second consecutive defeat, going down by 49 points last weekend, while Brahma made light work of West Croydon by 53 points.

The contrasting form of recent weeks has seen Pulteney’s stranglehold on top spot loosen, and suddenly Brahma Lodge are well within striking range.

Crucial game for both sides – the Blues looking to lock away top spot and the week off first week of finals, while Brahma Lodge will be looking to secure a top 3 finish – possibly a home final, or risk slipping to fourth or fifth depending on other results.

Pulteney will start slight favourites to win and claim the minor premiership, but the third placed Tigers need this win to maintain position and setup a massive Round 18 clash against Elizabeth.

This game promises to be a genuine arm wrestle, with both sides fielding plenty of high end talent, and will more than likely go down to the wire.

Where and When: Brahma Lodge Oval, 14:15pm

Last Five Times
Rd 8, 2017, Pulteney 17.12 (114) d Brahma Lodge 9.10 (64) at Morgan Oval
Rd 18, 2013, Pulteney 12.16 (88) d Brahma Lodge 13.8 (86) at Morgan Oval
Rd 9, 2013, Brahma Lodge 10.18 (78) d Pulteney 7.9 (51) at Brahma Lodge Oval
1998, Pulteney d Brahma Lodge
1998, Pulteney d Brahma Lodge

Five Points
• When the two sides met in Round 8, it was the goal scoring depth of the Blues that proved pivotal, registering 8 individual goal kickers, with Ben Frick, Josh Giddings and Will Darley kicking 3 goals each.
• This will be a contest between the two most potent attacking sides, ranked 1st and 2nd respectively for points scored.
• Darrell McIntyre didn’t play last time, and Dean Steele played higher up the ground, going goal less.
• Tigers midfielder Dene Steele is having another tremendous season, and a battle against Dalton Tucker will be a beauty.
• Putleney have the strongest defence, ranked 1st for points against, while Brahma Lodge tend to leak out more and have conceded 271 points more to be ranked 4th

BIG WEEK FOR… Dalton Tucker
The highly gifted former Gold coast listed midfielder blew the competition away early, but has been quiet in the Blues recent loses. The Blues will need another big performance from the Queensland underage captain to avoid a third straight loss.

Prediction
Pulteney by 15 points

INGLE FARM v ELIZABETH
Summary
One game separates these two sides on the ladder, with Elizabeth currently sitting second and Ingle Farm occupying fourth position.

Both sides have managed to defeat Pulteney in consecutive weeks, albeit the Eagles more comfortably, winning by 49 points last Saturday as opposed to the Bulldogs stirring last gasp 4 point victory a fortnight ago.

Pivotal match for both in the make-up of the season – Elizabeth can still potentially finish top depending on other results, and can secure a top 3 finish with a win in this clash, setting up a showdown with Brahma Lodge in Rd 18, whereas Ingle Farm need to win to remain in touch with the sides above, continue to push for a top 3 finish and double chance. With Houghton last round, the equation is simple for the Farmers – win this one or face Trinity OS in the Elimination Final.

Ingle Farm tend to play better at home, but the venue shouldn’t bother either side, both sides matching up quite similarly, and play a like type style of football.

Expect this to be a shoot-out if the weather stays away, and with the game expected to go right down to the wire it promises to be a cracking game to watch.

Where and When: Rowe Park, 14:15pm

Last Five Times
Rd 8, 2017, Ingle Farm 11.11 (77) d Elizabeth 9.9 (63) at Argana Park
Rd 11, 2009, Elizabeth 24.18 (162) d Ingle Farm 4.2 (26) at Rowe Park
Rd 2, 2009 Elizabeth 31.29 (215) d Ingle Farm 6.7 (43) at Argana Park
Rd 10, 2008 Elizabeth d Ingle Farm at Rowe Park
Rd 1, 2008 Ingle Farm d Elizabeth at Argana Park

Five Points
• When the two sides met in round 8, the Farmers were able to gain an 11 point break at the half before the heavens opened. The lead ultimately proved the difference, with the sides only managing to add 2 and 3 goals respectively over the second half, and the Bulldogs registering a 14 point win.
• Ingle Farm look to have 7 changes from the first time they played. The vast change may play into the settled Eagles line-ups hands.
• Two sides that boast arguably the two in form centre half forwards this season with Brad Sanderson and Shaun Woodland, as well as two of the premier ruckmen in Steve Gannell and Jhye McConnell.
• This will be a contest between the 3rd and 4th ranked attacking sides – with only 32 points separating both sides.
• Elizabeth’s strength is their defence, ranked 2nd for points against, while the Bulldogs are ranked 5th.

BIG WEEK FOR… Adam Hann
A former Central Districts junior, the young athletic midfield / forward flank had a quiet day against the Farmers last time around and will be eager to make amends in this contest.

Hann has proven a good barometer for the Eagles this year – when he performs, they generally win – and they’ll need him to perform this weekend.

Prediction
Elizabeth by 4 points

TRINITY OS v WEST CROYDON
Summary
Whilst this match doesn’t hold the same level of ramifications around the outcome as the other matches, the importance is equally as significant.

Trinity OS have locked away their finals spot, and helped their percentage at the weekend with an 82 point victory over Mawson Lakes. Their next aim is to see how high they can finish, being equal on wins with Ingle Farm, and only a game behind Elizabeth and Brahma Lodge a double chance – whilst unlikely – isn’t out of the question.

The Tossers would need to win both their remaining games and have results fall their way to finish top 3, but worst case it likely secures them a home Elimination final.

West Croydon have fallen well off the pace over the season, but will be eager to damage other sides finals aspirations and will be hell bent on causing an upset in this match.

Bottom line – Trinity OS must win and win well, or be resigned to the fact they’ll be playing an away Elimination final in a fortnights time.

Where and When:
Trinity College, Gawler Campus Oval, 14:15pm

Last Five Times
Rd 8, 2017, Trinity OS 13.8 (86) d West Croydon 9.4 (58) at Fawk Reserve
Rd 17, 2016, West Croydon 17.16 (118) d Trinity OS 7.2 (44) at Trinity College
Rd 8, 2016, Trinity OS 10.7 (67) drew West Croydon 10.7 (67) at Fawk Reserve
SF, 2015, West Croydon 18.17 (125) d Trinity OS 3.7 (25) at Fawk Reserve
Rd 15, 2015, West Croydon 19.16 (130) d Trinity OS 6.10 (46) at Trinity College

Five Points
• Last time they met Trinity OS leap frogged West Croydon on the ladder and into the 5 for the first time with a stirring come from behind win away from home. Trailing by 10 point at the last break, Mal Ah Matt cut loose as the Tossers kicked 8 goals to 2 and ran out 30 point winners.
• Although they haven’t been a prolific scorer this season, their attack ranked 6th in the division, it’s been the miserly defence, which is the third best, averaging 71 points against each week getting them results.
• No Woodcock, no West Croydon. When the electrifying utility is well held, the Hawks struggle to penetrate opposition defence.
• Trinity play their press as well as anyone else in the division, and their fitness amongst the best, the Hawks will be hoping for rain and plenty of it to nullify that.
• You have to go back to Division 5, 2013 to find the last time Trinity OS were able to beat the Hawks twice in a season, with West Croydon generally holding the ascendancy in recent years.

BIG WEEK FOR… Rocco Spangolo
Despite being the second leading goal kicker for Trinity this season, has struggled since his 6 goal haul against Mawson Lakes, adding a paltry 6 goals in 7 games since then. Has only kicked 3 goals or more on three occasions, with 4 against Ingle Farm the only significant return against a finals side.

Another poor return and he may be enjoying A grade finals as a spectator.

Prediction
Trinity OS by 67 points

Sobels, Nick Hall, Fuller, Frawley all played last couple weeks in the magoos..

Throw in Krelle, Kratochwil, Grose with Mizzi and Hickey to come back still and it's a fair unit being assembled.

As a club and particularly a coach we all know it is difficult to control the actions of every individual however, here you have a repeat offender and in a way they have condoned this behaviour by putting him back on the field.
If this is accurate then it shows a willful cultural issue and is why club sanctions are an apt and important stick for the league to use.

Salisbury West reps might have a different side to the story but if what has been said is accurate and they returned a player to the field after breaking a nose behind the play with a headbutt - that exhibits entrenched cultural issues within that club and is as alarming, if not more, than the incident itself.

Seems like an 8 week ban makes the post 'extremely accurate'

Well done yesterday Zartan (B Grade) excellent game to watch in the terrible conditions.

I thought Cassius was your best player on the day when you needed a spark or some run he always delivered and put the Elizabeth boys under pressure.

There were some anxious moments in the last minute very gutsy kicking across goal with that wind but your boys held on well congrats!!

Should give your lads a lot of confidence heading into the finals.

Thanks very much, was a good game - lot of sore bodies today in our side! Elizabeth are a very good side, conditions probably worked a little in our favor. Really proud of the boys to respond in the last quarter, it's great for their confidence heading towards finals.

Brett Watts is a fair player down back, rate him highly - along with Stephen Hogan and Mat Daniels they were really good too i thought.

Was good for Cass to step up, he slows glimpses at times but fades in and out of games because he's lazy, but chucked him to CHF at the start of the last and his 2 goals gave the much needed spark we needed. Definitely was amongst our best I felt.

Very anxious moments haha! Especially when our player dropped a simple chest mark with 40 seconds to go in the pocket and Clark was coming at him like a man possessed  Luckily he had support and could recover. Was proud of that last 2 minutes though, have often tried to train that tempo footy and prepare for those situations and Sat was prob the first time it seemed to just click for the players. Super proud of them.

Will enjoy the win while we can, the Eagles in two weeks on their own deck is a far far more intimidating challenge!

We would have loved the Pulteney guys to hang around for a beer too even though we lost but i am not sure one of them came into the club after the game, was the most empty i have seen the club after a game all season.

Also got told from our trainer that it was the filthiest she has seen the away change rooms left all year, strapping and mud everywhere apparently, obviously expect mud given the conditions but when i told her this she said it was as though they had tapped their boots out inside, as college footballers i thought their mothers would have taught them better

Agree anyone in the top 5 can win it from here, the competition has evened up over the last month for sure.

Must've been their "Brahma Lodge" impersonation :P None of your blokes came into our club Rd 10. ;)

If you think it was the most empty you've seen, should've seen it after we beat your B grade in the prelim the other season - I made all our guys go inside to show some respect and the only person inside the whole time was Browny serving behind the bar.. not one player or supporter ventured inside.

Seriously though, Brahma don't serve the Chardonnay Pulteney drink anyway
