i have heard the beast himself is actually playing and will be a late change
Haha, did notice that, but since Houghton aren't a bunch of bell ends, the warm ups coincided quite peacefully until you blokes finished your drill and politely made your way down the other end. #wedontwantnodrama #nonononodramaQ. wrote:Tense start to the b-grade game on a Moreland Avenue with both teams warming up at the same end.

Frustrating day for me personally in the Ressies and a bit of a reality check. Felt like I was getting pantsed tactically and our game plan fell apart. Need a Plan B and some deeper thoughts about how to compete with the top teams. Well done and the game was played in great spirits with plenty of banter about haircuts, handbags and fake tans.
First half of the A's I thought Houghton dominated but didn't put the score on the board - at one time it was 8 goals 1 to 8 goals 8. We competed well but the Raiders don't have any weak links and bat very deep. Our last 4 or 5 struggled under the pressure and got exposed when the game was there to be won.
Sorry I couldn't meet and greet anyone either - although I did look for you Q. as you're the only one I know what you look like and couldn't see you anywhere! Had to leave at about half time of the A's, hope you all had a pleasant day at the Den.
That was my fault. Haha. We simply don't have enough depth or talent to structure up traditionally and compete with the likes of Houghton and North Pines. If it's 6 v 6 in your forward line you win by 10 more goals than you did I reckon. There were times I had 9 behind the ballQ. wrote:I thought the B-grade was very frustrating to watch as the ball kept bouncing between each teams loose man in defence. I would've liked to see us match up on your loose man and use our player as a forward target, but it never happened unfortunately.

The only way we can make the game competitive is to try and turn it into a scrap and hope our ticker and desire gets us over the line. That and we had a bit of pace up front and thought you guys looked pretty big, so figured an open forward line and some runners from the midfield would work better. It went well early until you guys figured it all out and started manning up on the looseys we position on the wing and across half back
morell wrote:Funny you say that never happened, all I heard from the runner was "they keep saying that they're manning us up, we can't get loose".

I think that was just the result of everyone creeping forward trying to snag a goal

You would think with the likes of Olly helping coach they knew exactly what they were doing!!!
