Yup. Can only claim ignorance I suppose. My favourite is the classic underrating of the SFL and GSFL every year. I recall some posters on this site claiming Brighton were D6/D7 standard.

To be fair, they are paying for a MUCH better standard than Div7 ammos.
Like OSB and Marion coming in to D7 next year?

I do agree though. That's why I think its fair enough. $10 for an afternoons entertainment is good value.

$15 for a GF is good value as well, considering the rest of the year is free.

Back when I was playing & we'd recruit someone from amateurs you could just about guarantee the 1st game of the year they'd be like WTF is this shit, paying to get in to local footy.

My strong suspicion is the loudest complainers are the "once a year" attendees.

I would suspect your strong suspicion would be nothing but supported by the non-anecdotal evidence jo.

Not true. We actually filled every compulsory grade (8/10/12/15/17.5 B A ) this year. In fact we are guaranteed a spot if we want it.

Yep. Players & club members get in to home games free as part of their subs/membership but all pay at away games. U18 don't have to pay & parents of mini colts & junior colts who leave by half time of the senior colts get a couple of $ refund
Gate takings from H&A go to the clubs, finals takings go to the league

It's a tax deduction though, cos every player does a tax return on their earnings from football [emoji23]

Leave em in SFL or start in div 7. Why should we suffer.

Then there was that Ditchy peanut who claimed Brighton would struggle to make the finals. Good call that one.

To be fair none of those posts put Brighton as D7 standard.

They're just posts from people who were unhappy about Brighton being offered D3 (and MP being offered D4) which has not necessarily been the standard for new clubs entering the League.

As a matter of curiosity how is Brighton's standard this year relative to last year? I imagine getting blokes like Juniper in would be fairly helpful

Exactly jo! I don't think anyone actually thought or believed Brighton would be D6 or D7 standard - they're a powerful club FFS..

Manipulating crap to suit your arguements again morell :P

No doubt they didn't actually understand what they were saying, but the fact they thought the premise of a now D2 club playing in D7 was reasonable highlights how little idea many people north of Cross Road underrate the Southern Leagues - which was another example of my overall point that people complaining about $15 for a GF ticket are obviously ignorant of how other competitions are organised.

Rubbish.

If you say " I think Brighton should play D7" then you think its appropriate that they play D7. Which is utterly insane and highlights their ignorance on other comps. Which supports my argument completely.
