Something I have always thought about...

We can grade players. We have accurate team results from previous years. We have BnF votes and umpires votes and TIB on sporting pulse. We have DoBs and game played.

We could, theoretically, have a very accurate and dynamic grading system, every year, if we invested time and energy into it.

Would think that the two SFL clubs would slot into D7. Minimises grievances from existing CH9AFL clubs.
Except for all the existing D7 clubs that would be dominated *again* by another club entering the competition, of course.

One not getting promoted = one affected.
Lonsdale coming into D7 = many affected.

They would've probably won D7 in a canter this year, Para Hills and Luthies included.

Peter/Paul. Para Hills/Lonsdale.

Para Hills are D5 standard, so if they stay down for Lonsdale, it really is six of one, half a dozen of the other.

More than fair argument. I suppose I would rather be dominated by someone that has spent time in the div than interlopers - that was my point this year with Para Hills.

But point taken.

TBH, I'd rather risk catching bubonic plague from Luthies away changerooms than driving out to Lonsdale.

Apart from Adelaide University, we have the chance to move all C/D teams to their own comps and have two very strong D6 and D7 grades:

D6:

Greenacres
Rosewater
Brahma Lodge
Ingle Farm
Trinity OS
Salisbury West
West Croydon
Fitzroy
Adelaide Lutheran
Para Hills

D7:

Mawson Lakes
Houghton Districts
Mitchell Park
St Pauls OS
Adelaide University
Central United
Flinders University
North Pines
OSB Lonsdale
Marion

Love it. I'm sold.

I said this year that D7 2017 = D6 2007 in terms of quality and stand by it. The standard was really pretty solid. Central United were an OK side and finished 3rd bottom.

Would be awesome to see this.

 Actually hadn't used Google Maps yet, having been a former Morphy High student, i know it's around about a 45 - 50min drive from where i currently live to there, and Houghton is only 15min up the road.

Figured Houghton could go Portrush / Cross Rd / South Rd / Expressway - surely on a Saturday morning wouldn't take any longer than an hour.

Para Hills are not a Div 5 standard side, FFS didn't even finish top in Div 7! A good side yes, a Div 5 standard side hell no. I would imagine be in the 3rd to 6th range in Div 6 and bottom 5 in Div 5.

Para Hills were very lucky to get across the line a few times. Units had Para Hills on toast but couldn't convert, TTG had the game for the taking in round 16 but couldn't keep there mouth shut to the umpires, Uni at Uni was one 1/4 got Para Hills across the line, lost to St Paul's at home and went down by 8 goal to Lutheran.

Div 5 side my ass.
