Gepps were close to 100k last year in player payments and its unsustainable.

Maybe they are just cutting back to what they can afford

Wowsers that is a lot of dollars for Player payments. Especially when the club avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth!

If/when the league gets around to being able to implement a hard salary cap it's going to be interesting to see who it affects most.

Will never happen and if it did it would impact precisely no one.

A long time since the Boys from Northgate have been in Div 3. I played on big Laurence Scachke (RIP) briefly in a game in 97 or 98 when I played for Walkies. From memory Gepps played against Dom Fotias crime fuelled Glandore in the GF that year and that was the last time they where in Div 3 if my memory serves me correctly.

That GF also saw the infamous fight in the second quarter of the B Grade between Walkies and Gepps between 2 Glandore A graders on the Kenilworth mound. I have this on video, funny funny stuff

I want to wish your club and you all the best for the year and would be very surprised if they got relegated. Too many good passionate people around that club to let that happen.

No but the suggestion or sentiment on this site is that they are on a hiding to nothing this year and it is inevitable. I don't necessarily agree with it. They have lost some quality but still plenty of good players in the mix. They will lure a few before the season starts I'd suggest. I don't make a secret that I spend a bit of time there so perhaps there may be some bias but they are very well set up and won't be the easy beats some are suggesting.

Looking up and down the fixture......I have a feeling that 4/5/6 wins may still be not enough to save any side from relegation in 2015...... Pencil in winners at your own peril I would think...... although Gino might be his ace in the hole.....

No doubt one of these will be way off but it is February and it is some educated guess work. I agree it should be a pretty even comp.

No, there is a Defence Academy side in the ACT though

yes, they're not really a Navy side though, but were based at the Navy base originally
