6 foot 3 might be the blues ruckman this season. Did hear they wanted a new ruckman.

Div 5 certainly looks like its going to be a tuff one.
So Pulteney are the early fav's..i wonder if Aish is heading back,if so that could be a bit unsettling for us all,he is a class above the rest in this div.

Don't worry about Aish, D Tucker replaced him nicely last year.

1.Lockley's
2.Pulteney
3.Woodville South

4.CBC
5.Heccies
6.Blacks

7.Smithfield
8.Hope Valley
9.Ingle Farm
10.Kenilworth

think div 5 will be similar to this year just gone top 3 teams with a slight fall away and then the bottom 4

I don't think pulteney will be as good as people think. I think it will be a very even competition.

Probably closer to the mark than you realise.

Didn't the team that finished 5th make the GF. Top 3 must have been clearly better.

One would suspect CBC to be the benchmark this season, with Lockleys, Blackfriars and Pulteney close behind that in no particular order.

Woodville South and Hope Valley are capable on their day and no doubt working hard to strengthen their squads, expect they'll be battling for the 5th spot.

Smithfield and Hectorville have a fair bit of work to do after coming back down. The Panthers are ahead of the Hounds in the pecking order at the moment. If Smithfield can gain a few back, then think they'll be closer to Woody South & Hope Valley than anyone else. Despite winning D5 a couple years ago, it's difficult to see Hectorville arresting their decline in performance straight away. Perhaps a consolidation year for the club.

Ingle Farm and Kenilworth will face a tough uphill battle to remain in D5 beyond 2018, and will be targeting the likes of Hectorville to remain ahead of to avoid relegation.

Of all the sides, Smithfield, Hectorville and Kenilworth potentially have the weakest depth through the B grade, this may prove to be a critical factor over the colder months when injuries hit the first grade side.

Pulteney C Grade should improve too with perennial sand bagger Jesse Whinnen back.
