candyman wrote:Did you see them all go at me down Swampy land between 3pm and 5pm. Must have had the free Internet service down at the Employment Agency in the Port today. All put in your forms at once today did we??? - oh well a good meeting place once a week for you all. A day out I guess to talk about the amalgamation

I think we have hit a raw nerve for Mr Candyman. His childish and uneducated response mirrors his embarressment or unwillingness to reveal the former supposed A1 clubs he played with in the North, North East, Inner North and West.

How about his pathetic attempt to attack the Port?? Sorry but I did not realise the South of Adelaide was so upper class now. Particularly Candyman's own - Christies Beach?? Ha Ha Ha!!! Well what a suburb!!

On your favorite topic of amalgamation - can I just remind you that your club of choice (should you return to Adelaide to continue your such prestigious A1 career - ha ha ha) the Henley Football Club actually amalgamated in 1994 to enter the SAAFL. Yes that is right - they amalgamated with Greek Camden to form the Henley Greek! Did you conveniently forget that?? Or just happened to be uneducated about your club of choice??

Like you Candyman jumping between 3 A1 clubs when you LIVED in Adelaide before you headed down south for work, Henley have sold their soul. Henley rivals Wattle Park Teachers College in the number of name changes by SAAFL clubs over the years. Beginning as Henley Beach, it merged with Grange on two occasions to form Henley & Grange, and in between was known simply as Henley. During the war years a club called Henley United played social matches and in 1946 Henley Rovers was formed. The two combined in 1947 to become Henley Beach. Its inclination for mergers surfaced again in 1978 when it combined with Henley High O.S. to form Henley District & O.S., then it was announced in December 1993 that this group would combine with Greek to form Henley Greek competing in the SAAFL. In 1998 it reversed the merger trend by dropping Greek and reverting to simply Henley.

By my calculations that is 9 occasions when your club of choice - the Henley Sharks - have changed their names!! Hmmm - now that is what I call selling a clubs soul.

Hope the Henley "Eagles", whoops, I mean Sharks, have recovered from their straight set 2008 finals exit!!

C'mon Candyman - off to the SFL threads now!! Bye Bye!!

Exactly. For a once proud club they have sold their soul. They are no longer Port Districts anyway.
They are Port Adelaide Magpies 3rd's and do exactly what Timmy and the Board at Alberton tell them and exactly who to play and in what position. Sad to see such ONCE A PROUD CLUB sell their soul. They amalgamated once to become Port Districts, this is just another amalgamation with the Port Magpies.

I have to agree with that immensly candyman.

No Mercy, please tell me your still not angry that Districts destroyed your beloved ramblers in the grand final last year. ha ha hah hah Have fun in Div 2 next year. We wont be seeing you for a while

You and everyone else at Haven.

North Haven is really just Port Districts C & D grades anyway...

Yes - yes it does Steve - you get the hand me downs that Districts dont want down there at North Haven
You probably have got it spot on - you are the Port Magpies 5ths
All from your mouth as well there Sport, but who am I to argue with logic like that.\
Candyman is right on the money - Port Districts are the mere Port Magpies 3rds and 4ths and you are at the end of the line at North Haven

ah backflanker......interesting to note that if you look down the left hand side of the screen just under your name it lists you teams....see how you picked 3 whereas i only have one. Perhaps this is a reflection on your playing career. Im sure alot of clubs have heard those famous little words "this is where i want to be" but words mean nothin if your actions dont back them up. Lets just see how long you last at Districts..but at the moment your paying about 1.01 to leave and be somewhere else within a month. Perhaps you should try break your personal best of 8 teams in a year now that would be accomplishemnt...something you could be proud of.
