Sorry this is a bit after the fact as I wasn't at work on Friday but for those that haven't seen it, here's the letter sent to clubs re: Pines
Good morning all. The League has had the unenviable task of suspending the North Pines Football Club immediately pending further enquiries into their conduct as a result of allegation of the behaviour of some members of the North Pines Football Club following an Investigation then Tribunal with respect to those allegations.
The League makes no apology for taking these steps and whilst the Division 7 competition is disrupted, The League has a responsibility to ensure there are no further risks. The League also has a responsibility to ensure every club and its members and supporters are aware that affiliation with the Adelaide Footy League is not a right but a privilege.
The Executive Management Team have extended an invitation to the North Pines Football Club to appear before it as soon as possible to give them every opportunity to continue as a member of the League. It would be too easy to only consider these incidents in isolation but the League also has a responsibility to its member clubs, their members and its umpires to ensure they can participate in a safe environment without a reoccurrence whether in the short or long terms similar.
Whilst our mandate is to promote participation, it is not unconditional. There comes a time when we cannot continue kicking the can down the road in the hope we get a different result. The League is under palpable pressure from its member clubs and umpires to ensure it maintains the standards as agreed in all affiliation agreements, standards that all clubs are aware of the consequences for repeated non-compliance.
It is demoralising for all to be forced into a position where we have to take these measures however we do not apologise for being uncompromising in our pursuit in raising the bar for behavioural standards.
