There are a few ovals in Tassie surrounded by bike tracks.

I remember a fella Being slung into the bike track at West Park, Burnie. Ended up with some very serious facial injuries. This was When the oval (well Egg shape) was being used in the state league.

I think the fella is extremely lucky to have been able to get up, Tackler in serious strife. The contact with the concrete was not intended but he still meant to bury him unnecessarily. Those days are gone where its acceptable to do this even without the concrete issue.

Absolutely agree the act was completely reckless and he no doubt will get a hefty suspension. The AdFL has been a leading comp in weeding out bad tackles and their doing a great job.

I would say however that line of concrete is a lot more inconspicuous compared to a fence, bench etc. The fact is that despite guidelines that exact there is a video evidenced case to show that piece of concrete is a 'genuine / real risk.' You cant tell me if some bloke smashes his skull he isn't going to be going after the player involved as well as the ground, league, council etc despite the guidlines and this video will be a key piece of evidence.

Happened right in front of me. Did not hit the gutter, about a foot short, however I thought it would have been a red card considering he started the tackle over the line and finished so close to the gutter. Having said that, the Iggies lad's head did not slam into the grass. However....

Ellis: 5 + 1

Leahy copped 3 which I must confess I thought was overs, but guess that's really baseline these days.

Mid to lower divs do canteens well. Shouldn’t be underestimated how much more value a seriously good canteen can put into your coffers at years end.

Hearing there was a bit of heated mid-game feedback being given on the Townies bench on the weekend.

If true, not a good look, at all.

I was in the Athelstone area on the weekend and thought I would go for a look.
It was a great game all-day and credit to the Raggies - Great set up they have.

Athelstone appeared to be the stronger team throughout the day, but their forward line was disorganized, and they seemed off all day. They did try a few things and moved their FB to FF to try and get them going but they seemed very very very out of sorts. Lonergan looks a bit off the pace he is definitely not in the best 22.
Goodwood was more polished than the raggies and consistently finished off their hard work and it showed in the end.

I watched the B grade game and the Goodwood team looked very strong. Many of their players could easily play for the A grade team. However, the raggies seemed to have a lot of the same type of player - small midfielders - and I think it showed on the scoreboard.

Cheers

Went and watched the PHOS v Goodwood game on the weekend, better kicking at goal and the Phantoms would have snuck away with the win.
Saints had taller forwards as well.
Is it Papatolis with the blonde hair that usually play wing / onball for PHOS? if so he probably would have added a touch of class for them and could have been the difference. Injured or suspended?
Goodwood saved and tough on PHOS if they get relegated.

Salisbury North are still flagless in the Adelaide Footy League, as far as A grade goes.

hard to fathom.

The league's longest drought

Seaton Ramblers have that title in the A’s I reckon.

I still believe ROCS and flinders park are the two best teams on there day. If flinders can win the last 2 and get a double chance I can see them being a Smokey this year. Looks like modbury and athelstone have had a fair share of injuries and seem to be stumbling to the finish line but should be a great final series.

If the weather is good, Modbury's bigs are a huge headache for any team. Throw in Ah Matt and his ability to get out the back and it's one impressive forward line. Verity is a gun, Hearing;'s hands are amazing, and West is a very good ruck and dangerous when resting up front.
