Was the 2nd good thing hanging the boots up?

They nearly pinched it in the end
Much better side than last year
With a bit of luck, Brighton could have knocked off both Grand Finalists from last year in the 1st 2 rounds
Brazzer & Trenorden our best for me

Big test this Thursday for your mob Jim

Will you be gracing us with your presence at the all new Broadies Oval on Anzac day? Should be a belter. Must win for the Tige's!

Like you I have parents who served and my FinL will be marching - family lunch for him afterwards
Unfortunately, I cant use the "official business" excuse with Mrs Jimmy any more :(
Thank the stars for Filming Footy so I can watch the game as well as Collingwood v Essendon

I will give you a shout out at the 2 minute mark of the 2nd quarter to signify the 2 good things you did on a footy field in your career ;)

Wracking my brain - can't think of two good things I ever did on a footy field :-?

Hope Riley Davis is doing OK after copping one of the biggest hits I’ve seen in a long time at Broadies today.

Flicked between the two filming footy streams today.

Quality is brilliant. Hugely watchable stuff and better than the SANFL streams imo

I was surprised by the ease of both wins yesterday.

Didn't see the game, but Broadies finally living up to the pre-season expectations??

They literally have 10 out. They are going to get real dangerous.

As an example available next week they might have Jesse White, Xav Gotch, Elex Day, Logan McKinnon-Collins and with Crows and Port both at home you'd suggest some of there 4 top ups will wear the Guernsey for the first time.

Another huge game and tough ask against Golden Grove but their losses have come to Port and Glenunga who look like the measuring stick.

Surprising to see Golden Grove lose to PNU and Brighton in the first 3 rounds. They looked a ready-made Div 1 team.

Half a game with no bench didn’t help yesterday!

Noting how soundly Glenunga accounted for Districts at Largs on ANZAC Day is anyone going to get close to them?

Too early for that call. They struggled over the line against Brighton, then beat an undermanned Broadies. A good win away to Districts, then beat an average TTG. They haven't played SHOC or PAOC yet and the jury is still out on GG despite their 1-3 start.

They struggled to a 6 goal away win over Brighton where they also lead at half time by 36 points. Interesting take.

TTG lost to Port on liberally the last kick of the game and beat PNU last week by 6 goals. I don't see that as an average form guide. I think you are way under selling how good the Rams have been Moppy

Glenunga have been outstanding with 11 out of last years GF team. There is no doubt they will be in the conversation deep towards the end of the year in my opinion Jim 17th of Feb :D

Maybe just keeping a lid on expectations, Wristy!!

Won the second quarter against Brighton, that was about it;
Touched up an under-strength Broadies (think you said they had/have 10 out);
Always in control against Districts;
Never in doubt yesterday against TTG, but again, the second quarter was the difference.

Would be good to see them play the final game of the year again, though.

Yeah agree with all of that.

i tipped them to finish 4th in the pre-season show so its looking like i underestimated them and their ability to re-invent.

Certainly the importance of big Abe is second to none.. He will be absolutely pivotal in the attempt to go one step further in 2024.

As silly and as much as it will bite me on the ass i still have the GF as....
Port v Glenunga/Broadies with SHOC the only other possible suitor
Golden Grove will get some momentum and make a run but i have them 1-4 after this Saturday and there doesn't look like easy games this year.

I know Golden Grove have had some injuries this season, but they're already 1-3 and they couldn't have asked for an easier introduction into Div 1 football. I wouldn't write them out of finals contention just yet, though.

Have PNU changed their style / game plan this season?? Last year, the focus was on keeping the opposition under 10 goals. That wasn't going to cut it in Div 1 footy.

Haven't watched PNU yet, only seen highlights and watched some filming footy footage Moppy.

I feel like a reenforced midfield allows them to win it at the source and dictates a more attacking style though. Cheens being in his third year would certainly help. Matty Nunn has done what we thought he would. The biggest difference though is clearly the New President and Mastermind Martin P Smith. The man has the Midas Touch.
