KIDDING!

it was shelley fulton from old iggies and Aaron Bergsma from PHOS

He already had his speech written out as well. Was disappointing that neither winners were there to accept award though. And throughout the divs

I guess thats what happens when its 6 minutes a div whats the point in going all that way for that. Bring back the old days when there would be different div counts at different venues.

I think there is several admin and logistics issues with this but I am all for it.

The club hosting that Div could make of it what they wish and could obviously throw in raffles, BBQ, whatever really 2 x 30 minute counts with a club appointed host and an executive member would take it to the people . Undoubtably some venues would hold a cracking count and some would make it a stinking flop but I think there is some merit to revamping the format.

Again it would mean a lot of extra work for some but might give the medal a little more meaning. Say for instance Div 5 was at Rosewater. They have the power point, a large table reserved for each of the ten clubs, bar, canteen, BBQ, hosted by Media star Shaun "the Diff" Jacobsen, a still camera would work, an executive member or league rep, div 5 former winner/club legend/div 5 former star to present to the winner. Wouldn't actually be that challenging for a club to host and would be very easy to promote.

I guess the first step would be getting a club from Div 3-7 to stick their hand up to host a count and then work out where to tack on the C,s and 18,s.

Maybe I'm having delusions of grandeur but I'd head to a local club for a count, I think it would work admittedly at various levels of success.

I reckon you're right Wristwatcher but even the bad ones would be better than the current format. I vaguely recall this being discussed at a delegates meeting in the past couple of years.

**** me, he was a relatively serviceable D2 Ruckman not too far back and would still be pretty young. Good on him.
