Scotch have no affiliation with Sturt anymore as they play in Div 4 these days. I know of one Sturt player not good enough for their sides sent to the RMFL

Thats interesting i know of one Sturt player not selected for the reserves, was told to go and play with Scotch rather than playing in the Hills league.[/quote]

I also know this to be the case at Sturt with fringe players being directed to Scotch and prmised that if they play their they'll 'get seen' more often than if they played anywhere else....

Don't Port have some strange affiliation with Pt Districts? I know of a couple of players who strangely returned from injury through districts in 2011... strange because they were cleared to the club a week prior and then back to the magpies...

Interesting, he would have trained under Fuller at the Eagles when Fuller coached there in 2009 and it looks like Fuller kept in contact with him. Schwarzys a gun and great bloke too, did he train pre-season at the Eagles earlier this year?

Probably also played in the underage grades with current South reserves coach Terry Hutton.

Do SANFL clubs have to supply their own boundary umpires or are they short on water boys

He spoke with 2 or 3 other clubs pre season after Bass told him he probably wouldnt be considered for the seniors, but he wanted to stay at Norwood rather than changing clubs.

Good luck to Brent BJ Felice tomorrow night when he plays his 350 game for Walkerville. He's the first Walkies player to reach the milestone. In his 350 games he's played in 9 flags so he's had a pretty good career at the Cattery. Well done BJ.

D Bird has finally been cleared after a bit of chasing around this afternoon. I think I'll change my tip from Modbury to Portland in light of that.
Portland will have a pretty reasonable side once J 'Big Ease' Wareing returns in a couple of weeks.

Every team bar sturt, west and south approached him in the preseason. and 3 clubs we're after him this week.
He'll spend this week with us, but is headed to North.

Not sure if Portland had many players out or not but they did not look much chop yesterday.. i dont think i have ever seen a team implode like that, if they transferred some of the agression towards there team mates to there attack on the footy they would find it easier to win games.

Being part of club that often has an extremely vocal crowd i know first hand what hurling abuse off the field and backchatting on the field can do to a team. I can recall times when our hill has got a little over zealous and it certainly hurt the lads on the field. some of the things that were said would of put anyone off side to be honest, i certainly think that impacted how the umpires saw the game.. we have been on the other side of it plenty of times.. Do i think they favoured us with decisions?? not really,we had alot more of the ball and were first to the footy, do i think they crucified Portland a couple of times for little undiscipline acts that didnt always warrant a free kick? yep, certainly do. But in situations like that, the best thing you can do is shut up and deal with it, because ranting and abusing gets you no where.. i should know.
