on a side note guess the cash dryed up at eastern park cant buy a win and cant buy any decent player's.....

you my friend have no idea, we lost simple as that and i cant see anyone on here making excuses just stating the fact we had a chance to win it late and didnt take our chance, was a good game of footy and IMO it was umpired as well as i have seen in the past few years. Fisher can seriously play and is going to cause headaches for alot of sides kicked half there score himself, the bloke just does not miss,

you talk him up like he untocuhable im sure in the second half portland will come crashing down to earth

again you are way off the mark, at no stage in my previous post did i say he is untouchable, will he give other sides headaches? the bloke is just about leading the div goal kicking if not leading it from CHF, i think its fair to say he is going to cause some headaches. as for us crashing in the second half of the year, we will just have to wait and see wont we.

I don't see why there are so many negative comments about Portland on here. From all accounts they weren't going to win a game this year and after 7 rounds they are sitting equal top with only two losses. From what i can see they look like they are doing a great job down there and for a team that has come up from div 3 into a comp that has some great teams that have played in div one in previous years i think people should be giving them a little more respect.

There was only one person saying they weren't going to win a game and 4 other teams, especially Port Districts, were going to dominate, but he didn't fool anyone, other than himself into thinking he did

I would have thought Prior would go well on him.

Big round this week with a few games to shape the top 5:
Portland v Tea Tree Gully, Adelaide Uni v Port District.
I'm assuming Walkerville will beat Old Ignatians to make them 6-2.
The winner of the Portland/TTG game will share top spot as one of them will be 6-2 while the other will fall a game behind (5-3). TTG are a great side, but will be interesting to see how they adapt to Port Reserve which is a very different shape to Pertaringa.
A lot riding on the Uni/Districts game. If Districts win they will find themselves in the top 5 (5-3), but lose and they will again lose touch with the top 5. It is tough to beat Uni at Uni. Uni will remain top if they win.

good call lutz, couple of huge games this week, you would think TTG should have a win over portland but is a tough joint to get a win at, don't think portland have lost there since round 1 last year!!

5 would be nice! i think we're pushing 10 outs if you include our SANFL blokes whom we thought we'd have all year.
and neither our our 2 first choice ruckman played last week against gullies.

i hear Modbury could have played Hughes last week, but he copped a corky at training!
he might have to start back with the hawks!? norwood ressies are 7-0 and pumping teams! plus they will get a few back!

Gav wanted to come and have a kick but Bass wouldnt let him. They will monitor him back via the magoos and im sure they will make room for him

On the weekend, Uni were far to good.... disciplined/structure and ran hard all day. They have alot of experience across the field and probably the best side we have played.

Have to love Norwood don't you, all saafl clubs produce players for them and they never let them come back when there is a chance like other sanfl clubs.

Could be worse, they could be North Adelaide and tell their players they should go to Broadview rather than their home club

Yeah we have that issue too FS.....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

i was told Norwood were fine for him to play. but he copped a knock at training and didnt want to chance fate. which is fair enough imo
