Generally the higher the Div/Standard of competition = the players are left to do their own training to prepare for the season ahead, understandable that in the lower Div's some players need to train as a group to ensure they are doing some structured work.

Absolutely love this.

You could make an extremely good case that starting pre season in November end up being more hazardous then beneficial, especially if not done correctly or done by someone based on bro science.

Could not agree more.

Back in Tassie I was lucky to be involved with a very strong side in the SFL that used pre Christmas as more a bonding time rather than hard training. I'd argue that amateur club benefit very little if any from pre Christmas training. The bonding side of it if used correctly is where the benefit can be made.

Shane Hickey has departed Adelaide Lutheran for a club that prefers winning A-Grade flags over B/C Grade flags.

Heartbreaking news out of Luthies overnight, thoughts go out to friends, family and everyone involved in the club.

Tragic Player News
The Adelaide Lutheran Sports Club mourns the loss of current player Josh Henty-Smith. Tragically Josh passed away last night after collapsing at training during the warm up. Players and officials responded quickly providing initial treatment to Josh until the ambulance and paramedics arrived and we are immensely proud of what they did. He was eventually transported to RAH. Josh was a multiple B grade premiership player, a regular A grade player who played all of the last three B grade premierships. He played 96 games and kicked 130 goals for the club. We remember fondly his late goal in the Round 9 against Greenacres last year where he proved just how clever and difficult to defend he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with his partner Laura, parents Dave and Julia and sister Millie.

As a club we are working through the Lutheran Church, the Adelaide Football League, the South Australian National Football League and other agencies to provide the support that is required at this difficult time. A special thanks to Pastors Andrew Brook and Peter Miller who were present for the playing group at the club last night. A more formal media release will be prepared soon but in the meantime please direct all media enquiries to Football President Mick Emmett 0427 686 193 and/or ALSC chair Tim Stollznow 0415 504 056

Brahma lodge fc looking for trial game for either the 20th or 27th of March as we've had a couple pull out. Would prefer div 6/5 team or around that standard. Will have a oval available. Anyone interested either comment on here or contact me on 0433208957

Central United with some big ins coming up watch this space ;) Brahma lodge would have to be the front runners at this stage, hearing nothing but positives with great numbers. Up the hill at Houghton All talk early on but hearing they have been struggling with numbers on the track with no more then 20 odd. With a lot there recruits not training :o anyone wana predict a ladder this early?

Very Close Competition in 2020 for Div 7, Brahma Lodge seem to be the legit contender but the Riders also have picked up a few higher division players
Central United are gonna struggle fielding 2 sides

flinders picked up some very handy players. 3 or 4 A Graders from Mitcham. 1 an absolute jet. also a young fella from Goodwood who if he commits will go ok in Div 7. i would expect them to push up the ladder this year
