I agree their list is the best it’s ever been but having said this your bottom 5 win you flags
Have no senior flags and this year is a great chance for them but obviously have areas to work on and would want to finish as high as possible

Massive 4 games in the NEFL this week.

RSMU vs BSR
Top of the table clash, the challengers versus the kings. Should be a beauty. Riverton have been superb this year and a win here will stamp as out and out premiership threats. The BSR guys don't like the give an inch and would love nothing more than to stamp their authority on the comp. I reckon these teams have similar strengths so should be an epic battle.

Southern Saints vs Min Man
Third vs fifth and a must win for the Saints in particular. Whilst the Saints have disappointed so far a win here against what looks to be a top 4 side will have them moving in the right direction and a crack at a vital top 2 spot. Speaking of top 2 spots if Min Man have any intention of breaking through RSMU and BSR they just need to win this one. Should be a belter.

Blyth vs South Clare
Somones O has to go.....the two winless sides do battle. Personally I think Blyth should win this one, they still have some quality in their line up and are tracking much better than South who seem to be in all sorts. I expect this to be a spicy clash with both teams having a rare opportunity this year to get a win.

North Clare vs BBH
Whether its by one point or a hundred points Norf Clare just have to find a way to win if their genuine about playing finals this year. Everything says they should win which means in previous years they would be a cert to lose. BBH aren't a bad side and on their day could definitely cause an upset, BBH talked up flags at the start of the year but a loss here will see that done and dusted. Will watch the score of this one with interest.

The top 2 games are really important for those 4 teams
wins early against likely top 4 competitors are vital

I think BSR and SAINTS will get the chocolates with BLYTH and North also prevailing

Cats have to premiership players Ottens, Salter, Barr, mickey and Scott atkinson along with young gun Gus Kennet all coming in this week. They will be looking for some better performances with these boys in and McCormack, jimmy huntet and Jordy Bruce back in over the next few weeks

BSR by over ten goals against Riverton

Alex Morgan making his return after two knee reconstructions and Lee Staple playing his first game for BSR.

Saints vs MinMan was a combative game of football, not alot of easy ball for either team
BSR early flag favourites?

Interesting results this weekend.

BSR very comfortably beat Riverton, the Hawks kicked the first goal of the game only for BSR to kick the next 11 and then run out comfortable 12 goal winners.

Most predicted the Saint vs Min Man game to be the closest of the round and that proved to be correct with the Saints winning by 5 points. Keeps themselves well in truly in the top 2 hunt and could be the win that ignites there season. Min Man will disappointed they've missed out on a real chance to separate themselves in third spot but as each week goes they are showing they are a genuine top 4 side.

North Clare will be stoked with their win, previous years they lose that game but so maybe they are maturing. I still don't see them as a top four side but they have almost done enough to prove me wrong. Rumour has it Dallas Hill will be heading back to Centrals so that will be a massive loss. These week they have a big test against BSR. For Burra its well and truly back to the drawing board after talking flags in the off season.

Blyth go the win that most expected them to have. These will breathe some life into their season and have the opportunity to make it two in a row at home next week. I believe RSMU their opponents this week had a few injuries on the weekend so this could be a cracker.

Yeah BSR are battling along

Like most teams BSR have a few out. Off the top of my head I can think of the below players. Hopefully for BSR it’s the ‘loss you have to have’ after a month of pretty comfortable victories. Next two weeks will give a clearer picture though.

-Joe Heinjus
-Lee Staple
-Ben Cousins
-Nathan Hayes
-Ben Kitschke
-Andrew Lehmann

Ps not sure why the dollar signs giving they used 0 points on the weekend meaning every player was pretty much a local. At most they have used 4 points with which 2 were joe Heinjus who is somewhat a quasi local anyway

Did not see this loss coming

Good for the competition the top 5 look like they will be battling for 4 spots

which means every time they play each other the games become mini finals and any they drop to the lower teams could wreck their years

Yeah big couple of weeks for BSR with Min Man and Saints. 2-0 will almost guarantee a top 2 place whilst 0-2 could see them as low as fourth.

Interesting to see the Saints only just get over South Clare. Either South Clare have improved dramatically or the Saints were off their game.

Has a guy ever kicked a higher percentage of his teams goals than Hardy at the Saints this year. His almost going at 50% of their goals.

Rd5- kicks 4 out of their 12
Rd4 kicks 4 out of their 8
Rd3 kicks 5 out of their 10
Rd2 kicks 6 out of their 9
Rd1 kick 4 out of their 17

Perhaps they've come abit Hardy-centric, he is imposing and a great target, but if too predictable, comes finals time extra avenues will be required
would teams be happy to give him 4 at the moment ?

He gets nothing from the umpires either

Yeah will be interesting to see how the Hardy centric works if we ever get wet weather.

One school of thought is that the wet days wont suit them because he wont have take the marks he would normally clunk. On the flip side though is that they have a big bloke on wet days that at worst will bring the ball to ground every single time and will never get outmarked that the small forwards should be able to work around, never mind I'm sure he will still clunk one to two marks which could be all the difference on a wet day.

Not surprised he isn't getting anything, his time in the SANFL was often spent arguing with umpires, never mind carrying the reputation as being the big $$ recruit of the comp.

Yeah results so far suggest you can beat the Saints if he kicks four so you would take that. Obviously I have no idea how many his laying off on top of the 4 a game his kicking so that might be the difference.

Possibly no Hardy today
Good chance to improve other avenues to goal

Yeah looking forward to that one. I wont be playing but will definitely make the two minute walk down the road for the day.

North Clare look the real deal, for the first time in my four years up here they are taking care of the bottom half teams with ease. Jacko has them firing.....

Reckon the top 4 is now pretty set, Min Man might continue to put the pressure on but the Saints are starting to hit their straps and both North Clare and Riverton should win enough games against the bottom four to hold of Min Man.
