a lot's been made of Gawler Central's recent inability to win prelim finals. How about South Gawler's inability to win a first semi? Since the formation of the BL&G, they're 0-5 in the minor semi.

Central can only wish they had a record like that

In regards to previous posts, the Team of the Year just looks ridiculous this season. I threw my barracker away in disgust after looking at it but does it actually say who the selectors are?

Can someone post the team of the year?
And was it the official one or was it the Barracker's?

I heard it was the official team which was 'exclusive' to the Barracker...

I hav'nt followed the footy that closely this year but the most glaring mistake would have to be P.Stelzer out and Salter in.
Also a team that was clearly dominant to 7 other teams can only get one in there plus a token bench position is astounding. Clearly Mick Brian has no influence over Nobby anymore.

Been a joke for a few years hasn't it...
Why is everyone so surprised this year.

There has always been blokes picked out of position and based on name not form.

Back Pocket and Half Forward are the positions raped most years, midfielders who don't leave the centre square find their name there in TOTY.

The BL&G official team of the year is becoming a joke.
It is quite possibly the worst side I have ever seen picked, some of the players picked were definitely not picked on form.
Heath Lawry played half a season and made it.
Scott Williams for Freeling was arguably the best midfield/forward all year and doesn't get picked.
How does Paul Stelzer start and Matt is on the bench when Matt has had a far better season than Paul.
Why can't Shaun Baker make it?
And I'm pretty sure Daniel Stanley has had a far better season off half back than Joel Campbell
Nat Salter kicked 41 goals (5th in the comp) for the year as a small forward and can't make it?
Sam McKinnon another unlucky player to miss out.
Were Gogoll and Ahern picked on form??

I must be watching a different league each week!!

spot on, reputations get ahead of those who actually had a good year. How does Shaun baker miss out, will take out the donnies b&f. I don't even take notice of the team of the year anymore, waste of space in the barracker

Been hanging on to that one for a while haven't you Swoop! Of course your sledge at Angaston was posted just prior to getting done by them on your own dunghill, hence my mirth. Your boys HAVE done well to hang in there though, and the experience in that side can't be overlooked come finals.

Sounds great Extractor, fantastic initiative. Will it be elevated?

The marquee will be on the Dog Track in front of the old greyhound grandstand (currently off-limits thanks to Gawler Council). It's pretty good viewing from there, we had our sposnsor's day marquee in exactly the same spot earlier this year...

Nobby etc. had already booked the Dog Box out for BLG-Related activities...
