bit of truth and a bit of crap mate, i think you will find most of the blokes that are still out at cricket have not been to training yet so they are only hearing second hand info. The B grade coach has been appointed i dont know his last name but first name is Chris, he is the A grade assistant and has played at keith, Glenelg and a few other local leagues ( i know he cant play anymore due to a bad injury relating to ankles or feet) (truth). Mick Moller was contacted as there was a possiblity he and jags would come from Jervois, Jags was not interested but Mick was but Mick apparently wanted a fair bit of coin and the club wasnt willing to pay what he wanted (truth) . Todd Butler rumour is def (crap). Another rumour which you will hear which is true, Jacob baggs will be out for about 6 weeks as he sliced his tendons in his finger cutting a hot cross bun, bloody idiot stay out of the kitchen poor bloke, that will hurt the bays for the first 3 rounds as still 3 weeks to go.

I know there is at least 6 blokes coming to training tonight for the first time as i believe cricket is now over for the bays this year so they will get filled in on what is happening around the club tnite.

Cuzzy,i dont no where you get your imormation from. For you to say that Todd Butler didnt put his hand up for the Bays coaching job, makes you ill informed.Todd Butler is def (truth)!!!!!!!

Im starting to wonder if Cuzzy is from the Bay. I was told this by a Bay player. Interesting decision by the Bays if true :-k

Cuzzy is Correct. I Was at a 40th with Todd Bulter last Saturday night in Adelaide,
No Toddy Butler didn't want the job! Think about it. You live at Keith, Work at Keith,
and have just coached Keith to Back to Back Flags why wouldn't you go for 3 in a row?
Toddy raved about his young kids he has down at Keith & when you are on $20,000 + finals
a year to coach them, Why wouldnt you stay.

bays had good numbers last night 32 on the track, we are playing morphettvale this saturday 9.30am at Encounter Bay oval. I hear they have won the last 4 out of 5 premierships and have been getting 76 blokes out on the track, will be very interesting.[/quote]

slight exaggeration there mate, ive been to a few sessions no where near that number at all.i would doubt m/vale would play too many guns too much to loose i wouldve thought.id say alot of kids will play.

Hi Cyclops,

Morphette Vale would have 76 maybe one nite or Overall,...........but whatever ya
do don't knock them, Morphette Vale have been a very strong club not just the last
5 years but last 20 years, They are always around the Mark come finals & always
are flush with numbers. This weekend will depend on how many of the older blokes
can get a leave pass from their misses for a weekend away with the boys.

What happen to Loxton this weekend? Not enought numbers?

Spoke to last years B-Grade coach, last night and he has announced his retirement
from football after 300 odd games for E/Bay - I hope it dosn't start a domino
affect, i know Dennis Rice is going to sign with Victor this week. Understandable as
he the 1st. cousin of last years coach.

Last 20 years is stretching it a bit. Even Cyclops would know things had been very lean for the emus pre their recent success. Correct me if i am wrong but i think it was a 20-23yr A grade premiership drought (taking nothing away from them) ;)

Finally some sense on the S Fox saga. At least we all have some closure now, i was on the edge of my seat there for a good 3 months there, could probably write a book about it 'How S Fox found his dream footy club'

On a more sombre note, L Bell will be a notable loss even with the inclusions at VH.

No Butts doesn't live or work at Keith and had told Keith he had run his race. Why wouldn't he be interested in the Bay job, he does travel back from Tinty every week to play cricket for them.
I think you will find Keith also wouldn't have that sort of money left over for the coach according to him its somewhere around 1/4 of the amount you mention. I think you are right about him being excited about the kids coming on this year but he only took the Keith job again after some serious pressure from Jimmy West who is playing one more year at the ripe old age of 43.

Butler had good success at the Bay and if he is coming back for cricket why wouldn't he for footy? Was he even approached? He is a premiership coach.

Correct, won 4 in a row 79-81 then 4 in a row 04-07. So 8 flags in a 30 year period is reasonably successful I would say.

Todd was certainly keen to head back to the Bays and would have done a good job.Unfortunately for them the President didnt like the idea.
As for their former B grade coach retiring he should have done that years ago.

Its always G8 to measure how good a club is by the number of Flags it has. But M/Vale
have constantly made the finals, back in the 1990's they may not have won the flags,
but you are rite, they are always up there.

MISINFORMED, alot closer to Keith than Victor from tinty, No todd wasn't keen to come back
to Encounter Bay - they were his words. He travels back to play cricket with his son once a week NOT 3 Trips a week! and I can't see Todd making a Footy comeback at any stage.

NORE was he asked, Nore did he put in for the job - ie. He didn't want to come back.
His words were one day maybe. Is Correct about Jimmy West thou at 43 and gettn into the Fire Service it's the fittest he's ever been.

Good luck to Toddy & Keith this year!

thats a bit harsh mate, shemp was a great coach and an even better bloke. Are you one of those blokes that he made sit on the bench week in and week out that was always complaining?

Yes Cuzzy...
I manage to run a household, work, help out at the footy club AND still have time to come on here and help the moderating group.
But, alas, you probably don't know what this is like as men are strictly limited to doing one thing at a time. ;)
You get what you give....
