I agree with both LF & Damian. I too played in that last game and found it embarrassing going out to the first saints training, and playing that year and being one of the only players that was still going to be representing Port Elliot. All of that team that played that the 'last' game should be embarrassed and ashamed, they deserted the club and the community that supported them. And have no right in calling themselves Port Elliot players and legends. As they abandoned the club when it was in need.

Thats my 2 cents worth anyway.

If you played in that game damian, name another 15 players that played with Us and I can
proberbly tell you why they didn't continue with the Goolwa Saints. Myself & Dave Whitborne were the only 2 players at the Port Elliot AGM in 2001, I did put my hand up to help Port Elliot!
I wasnt going to drive from BAck Valley to Train & Play at Goolwa, as for the other 15 or so
blokes, if you were in that "TEAM" these other blokes ended up as Good Mates and you should
know why they didn't continue at the Saints alot of them had different reasons including
player payments which was not going to continue at the saints. Playing both games in A-Grade
against Encounter Bay & winning them, that season was very gratifying.

PLayed in Premiership Sides in all grades at Encounter Bay including a Junior Colts premiership
in 1986, I'm a Bay man and so I retured to Encounter Bay thats why! Maybe I will help
Port Elliot Tennis Club win a Div1 Tennis Premiership in a weeks time, if we win on Saturday
or maybe an 8-Ball title for the Hotel Elliot this winter, we had a good win Wednesday Nite
so I too love Port Elliot, Just NOT Goolwa.

Thats not at all helpful. If your an ex Port Elliot person signman why dont you jump on board?

After what I seen last night I hope you win those flags as Bays wont be playing come September, Cuzzy and Signman will prob tell us Bays had 35+ at training last night. I was in the area last night and needed to go via ring road I can tell you bays had 14 players and a black dog running around at 6:45, Victor had 28 training with 4 or 5 watching on and Goolwa had around 26 - 28 on the track.

TW Alex spends a lot of time at home....alone with nothin but the internet and a tub of vaseline!!! U can only do 'that' sort of activity so often before you need to find somethin else to do.

Hes a creative one tho, has done some good movies over the years, go have a look at Shooter Williamsons home page on youtube and have a laugh. Funny man!

A side note tho, Shoots Dream Team will run midpack at best this season ;)

i wont tell you 35+ mate but i will tell you about 28 though as you probably didnt see the other 14 playing netball on the netball courts against the a and b grade netball squad, training was easy last night if only it was like that every week. You still shoping around teamwork?

Na I didnt see the netball courts mate as I just drove past and looked at the oval, shopping around? Yea mate any club needing a B grade interchange steward I am available, may goal umpire if needed but maths is not a strong point of mine.

CLEARANCES OUT OF

9040 LOVE O ENC BAY CAMPBELLTOWN AFLSYDNEY 4/03/2009
9041 LOVE R ENC BAY CAMPBELLTOWN AFLSYDNEY 4/03/2009
9042 SUMNER I ENC BAY CAMPBELLTOWN AFLSYDNEY 4/03/2009

It will be interesting to see what us (bays) do with these clearances, i would highly doubt they would clear Owen as he has signed on at the bays for 09, not sure about raymond as dont think he has signed and contract for 09 and when i saw him walking through victor the other day he doesnt look in any state to play footy, def bulked up but not with muscle. Sumer well as someone said earlier a good B grade footy player on a good day but prob wouldnt be worth not clearing just because of finacial.

I will be interesting to see how Owen goes in this league if he does get cleared, hopefully Bassani can have some influence on him as he is very hard to motivate and towards the end of last year didnt really look like he wanted to even be part of a team let alone playing.

Big loss for the bays with Owen but if the guy doesnt wanna be there no point refusing him / keeping him if his heart is not in it, wish him well in sydney, hopefully he can get back to playing where he was at the start of the year and midway and not at the end.

If Owen plays in the AFLSydney he will rip it apart, its a very average league a ex B grade player played last season and went well and said its easy compared to some B grade games in the GSFL.

Cuzzy NO, NO, NO Ya wont see Signman this year he is well & truely retired,
the Game at Willunga last year well & truely put me Off of playn Footy again,
Unless we get a Masters Side together (Over35's). Im TOOOOO OLD.

As for the losses and last night, I well and truely think We at Encounter Bay
are in Big Trouble this Year, Last nights training Looked like a dogs dinner,
Where the f..k is the coach, some bloke taking training who played junior footy
down the South East - But if he's the Assistant oo'. Still yet to appoint a B-Grade
Coach & Our best player has walked out. Bassani will pay out or get the new
club to pay out his contract for 2009.

Ya can count 1/2 the players at Goolwa training last night as 1/2 of them can't play, I too went for a drive too, as for Victor - they may be quietly confident this season!
But I think we may have a battle this year between the bays, Goolwa & Yank for the timberwear.

Are you predicting Pongy to finish higher than those 3 sides???

Dont think Bays are the only team with low numbers. Yank, myponga, goolwa, vh and eb seem to all be in the same situation. my turn for a ladder prediction.

Creek (huge inclusion$ that can match willunga'$ big gun$. a big $tatement but the dyna$ty has to end $omewhere)
Willunga (still red hot favourite and probably a silly sugestion saying they wont win but....)
Victor (wont be any match for the above 2 teams but are the stand out improvers...on paper)
Strath (have lost a few, but are always around the mark)
Compass (always competetive, should win 9 games on that thing they call an oval but cant take the next step)

Yank (tough side, who showed massive improvement last year. my dark horse to possibly sneak in to the 5)
McLaren (getting in to the teams that are making up the numbers, but the crows seem to have had a solid preseason)
Goolwa (might not have improved much but a couple of teams above them from 08 look to be going down the gurgler)
Bays (just look a the ins v the outs. Love, Heuskes etc were the backbone)
Myponga (lost to Goolwa last year and since then their list has been severly depleted)

Pongy have signed a few young players who will rotate through the midfield that will be ok & have signed a CHF who looks good on the track by all accounts. There could be a very good local player returning.... & Shaun Hutchy is fitter than he was last year, probably something to do with all the walking he has to do these days  They wont finish bottom
