The following was posted on mclarens site last week, maybe thompson is shopping around?

""good to see Mclaren putting in the hard yards on the track for the first time in years, I'd love to be out there myself, if I ever get away from my beloved bottlo i'll come out for a run! cant play this year though unfortunately....goin to be hard watchin from the sidelines.. hey Brad Thompson (aggi) expressed his interest in playin for us this year, hes about 6-1 and can play in the midfield or on a half forward flank, I was havin a kick on the oval with him and his skills are surprisingly top notch. Ill pass on hillys number to him, could be a half decent asset. Anyway, come through the seaford for a free pale ale guys""

I think you'll find he won't be playing in the GSFL this year.

BJ, i believe the last time you saw him play was about 8 years ago. That cancels your opinion out of this debate mate.

You sure you have the right bloke BJ? I was involved at Callington last year, he only played 9 game but was 3rd in our B & F.

on another issue, as the economic climate continues to crunch everyone, what events have footy clubs found have attracted the most people to and made the club the most money. In the past the bays have had some fairly big events at every home game but more and more players can no longer afford to have big nights at the footy club anymore. This year we are going down the path of having 5 big events, what events go off at your footy club??

Aggi must be the only player to finish in the top 5 in a B&F and not get in the best players once, or be listed as a goal kicker (as per countryfooty.com). Cuzzy our big events are:

-reverse raffle
-mouse cup
-season launch
-rump and red
-others that are ok are miss saint, trivia, hawaiin night, cocktail night

Its a big opportunity for footy clubs cuzzy. Far better entertainment than the front bar and it is by far cheaper drinking at the footy club than it is at any hotel!!!

Limbs "finnis cricket club trivia night" could be the event of the year, he's been plugging it everywhere (even at the Goolwa Tennis club trivia night). Maybe we should put in a SA Footy Forum GSFL team?

limb, i am stating what i have been told, and as much as you would like to sit back and think its all happy boys at the creeks this year, as i said these blokes are training and are keeping very hush, put yourself in their shoes if you were shopping around you would be keeping your fitness up and also keeping it very hush. its okay mate i am sure feast or sherwood can make up for 5 or 6 blokes on the park. Next monday might even have a few names for ya. Does the amatuer league have a points system?[/quote]

so Cuzzy it's monday and you're awfully quiet re those names. maybe you were just trying to stir up ol' Limb? maybe you don't even have a brother...

Mouse Cup is the event of the year!! If anyone gets a chance to attend one, even at a rival club, get along and enjoy a classic night of racing!!! They are run professionally by a group of blokes from Adelaide, they do a great job and everyone has a blast!!!

Another great night on the track for the demons last night with plenty of numbers and a great team atmosphere!
Baz working everyone extremley hard from the start and it shows with some blokes even after 2 weeks! How are teams going with thier preos, any stand outs to speak of and anymore trial games to be confirmed?

i almost had a heart attack last night when i found out my first trial game is in less then a month!!! I wud imagine other teams would have trial games just around the corner to!

It never ceases to amaze me how the demons just waltz into preseason after every other team (sometimes 3 months after) and then are still able to turn it on come round 1! Pilmore must be flogging them!

Just a quick update on where McLarens are for 2009

Into our third week of pre season which has been pretty intense
We have spent most of the time at the beach, Moana, maslins and Pt Noarlunga, with only 2 sessions at the oval
Numbers have been solid for each session.
Pick ups for 2009 at this stage
Russell Hart
Mark Fenoughty
Matt Heaney (spelling)
Scott McQueen,
Quinny the chucker
Justin Houston making a serious comeback
Ash Whiley back after a year off
and a couple of new faces over the last week

Losses
Aaron Hockey
Justin Hentshcke both to Mannum
Steve Freeling to Aldinga
Paul James is doubtful

There are still a couple of now shows and 6 doing Vintage Work
We still are looking for a gun Back pocket and a mongrel Full Back

The 6 juniors coming up from Gianni's U/17 are looking good
We also have around 6 at South Adelaide.

Trial games against Port Noarlunga, Noarlunga and Happy Valley are organised and trip to KI to be discussed tonight

Juniors first night last night and they are not looking too bad

7 weeks this Saturday before we test were we are at against Willunga
SO MANY IDIOTS
SO FEW BULLETS
