Wet weather does even up the sides especially when it comes to fitness and hardness at the ball.
We can all remember Compass in 2003 when hailstones were floating around the ground during the reserves Prelim and the following game when
the hot favourites were beaten in the A grade
Bring on some rain in 2009.

Fair to say that the events of that day, particularly the gracious reaction of the victors still drives the Demons to work that little bit harder to this day X( .

Thanks Yetti, just the rev up I needed before I hit the stairs tomorrow night.

You are right there Grape Ape
Mclaren were very gracious after that win!

I am not too sure if we have beaten you since then

Mclaren were a shambles after that win Yetti. Dont kid yourself about that! Abusing us for being chokers. Abusing our girlfriends on the steps there calling them Sl*ts etc. You know it all happened Yetti. Well done for the win but the way your players and supporters carried on was a joke.

Something to be said for being a good winner.

Im not certain of the results since, Mclarens have dropped away but Hilly is the right man to turn the tides i reckon!

I reckon you'd find that most of the people playing for McLaren back then who were carrying on an abusing people after the game no longer play for McLaren.

Long time ago now E23, a lot of water under the bridge since then. It was a very disappointing day for all involved and has provided us with plenty of motivation to not feel like that again!

Thanks to limb also, felt kinda good haha  Back to normal now!

I wouldn't be so sure about Compass being pretenders. They have only lost Blakely and Schmidt from last season with Schmidt being the only real loss. They have been very smart in their recruiting and this has been made a little easier with the culture that Samuels has developed over the past 3 years. Not as difficult to attract players now. They have retained Fromm, Bailey Cheetham etc. and along with the Creek boys they have picked up a mate of theirs from Pt Noarlunga who kicked 40odd goals last year. Travis ????? He is a little nuggety but looks good. Also Scott McMahon, Scooter McCade, Brayden Ritter and a quality on baller from Darwin/ East Perth. Add to this some good kids coming out of the U17's and maybe Shane Binns the Dog's are going ok.

How many of those players attract points Mutley? That is a good number of ins if they can fit in. Creeks x 2 would already be 6, so that would leave 5 to play with.

Drove past Goolwa on the way home last night from work, not a lot of numbers out but interested to know who the big 6 foot plus guy was. Couldnt recognise him but looked handy. LF, TW, Damian?

Simon Dennis (coach) or Dennis Sivestri (returning to footy after 3 years off)? Only other 6 footers were me and chief hirst.

I've heard that he has trained with Compass for the last few sessions. It would make sense with his missus's involvement with the netty.

Wouldn't be Travis Harris would it Mutley? Won an under 14 medal and showed alot of potential but then went quiet for a few years. Brayden Ritter isn't a bad player, will be interesting to see how he goes against fully grown men, how much senior footy has he played?

That sounds more like the Travis Harris i know, hasn't done much since that under 14 (might be under 15) medal. Not worth playing in A grade for the points he is worth.

Is that the young lad from BDT Mutley?

Good player but doesn't like the hard stuff.

Shane Binns a very good player (From what I've heard)
Related to the other Binns boys from Compass.

He's come back from the SE,
And has played most of his junior football at one of the SANFL clubs.
West Adelaide... I think.

O:)

So that's a yes then BL.
