Sounds like there'll be a few night games this year. Langhorne Creek will be hosting Strath in the first ever night match at Hawk Park on Anzac Day which will be a big game.

Creek v Strath at Strath last year was MASSIVE! I couldn't beleive the crowd. Second only to the GF I reckon. 2000 people Limb?

The Strath/Creek night game was one of the best ones of the year. I wonder, because Strath had all their new recruits last year and Creek got over the line, if Strath will win this year because of the Creek's new recruits?
Also, has anyone heard any more whispers from Goolwa? Or any confirmed recruits?

another hot training session tnite boys, see what mitchell has in store for us, so far to report on pre season it has been extremely hard but fun at the same time as we have used a team approach for everything which seems to make it more compeititive. It has the most any of the bays players have run for about 4 years but still getting better numbers than the past four years so looking good so far.

hows everyone elses pre season going, heard victor arnt doing much running but more ball work?

Yank have picked up 3 or 4 quality players...pretty much the max under the points system
Doubt if Koster will still be playing.
Could not get any names
They have been active and I guess, that even requesting to have a night game, is a good positive step for them.
We are looking forward to meeting them under lights at McLaren in about the second round.

At the local watering hole On Australia Day and the word was that the Tigers have signed a ruckman in the name of Paul Scholler who played for the Vics in the country championships, Also have had talks with a few under 19 from Port that are going up the grade and might be on the fringe. A guy called Chad Cross who played a couple of yrs ago looks to be returning.

Hey Cuzzy
McLaren are getting solid numbers as well.
A lot of running, and a lot of beach sessions planned but not for tomorrow...
There is a good atmosphere ....they are getting worked pretty hard.
Some good times for the 3k trial last friday around the 10 mark for the top 5
Still waiting for them to start doing the situps that have been promised!!!!

Victor are doing alot of full oval drills that involve alot of running but using the ball to keep things fun and work on skills and concentration when your tired.
Sounds like Mclarens will be a fit side if you have 5 doing 3k in 10 minutes thats ahead of most SANFL players!!!

If Yank have signed Paul Scoullar then we can load up on him for te mail medal. At well over 200cm and with 4 SANFL premierships with centrals under the belt he would be very dominate down here but he left SA at the end of 2006 to return home to NSW (plays for Deniliquin in NSW where he grew up), so it would be an interesting decision to return to SA to play country footy.

Paul Schouller was a great ruckman for Central Districts. I didn't think that sort of player would be at the top of Yanks wish list although the thought of Schouller and Hamlyn together is simply mouth-watering.

Why? Whats the significance of Hamlyn with Scoullar?

Having played that game for SA against the Vics in 07 Scoullar was good! He was big but as the game went on tired and our ruckman in Lowe and Burford both got the better of him on the day but was still up there in their best players IIRC.

Great work to look at recruiting the young 20-22 year old reserve-fringe league players!!! Thats where there is value with this points system!!!

Hamlyn's a go getter, but I don't know about quality. It is more Schouller teaming up with Hunt that will cause the big problems for opposition clubs. Pratt would have enjoyed that ruck combination, but he is gone. Koster may have to go in there.
