You obviously have a lot of time on your hands Ape!
It is my understanding Ewer was offered more money to play elsewhere, but chose Goolwa because he was ready for a new challenge. Of course money is a motivating factor, but after 5 successful years in the River Murray league, it was time for a change. After meeting with several clubs, he was most impressed with the Goolwa coach, future plans for the club and the direction the club is heading.
Surely some credit has to be given to him for not taking the easy road. A number of already successful clubs were after his services in the off-season, and he chose to make the big step of joining a new club which has not enjoyed success in recent times. He is leaving Jervois on good terms, and after speaking to him, he is looking forward to a fresh start with new team mates, the majority of which he has never met.
In future I would be careful when making assumptions about someone's character. It's easy to make assumptions when you dont know the facts, but you shouldnt paint everyone with the same brush.

There is a 'rough' copy getting around.
Official copy can't be too far off.

Ha ha. Yeah you got me. Easier to cut and paste the life members than to type out 100 names. I can assure you the rest are legit.

And nothing against Ewer I don't really know the guy but come on, is it no coincidence that the 'challenges' he's taken on just happen to be at two of the highest paying clubs in the state?

Do we even need to reply to that comment. Considering Goolwa has missed out on 3 players to 2 other GSFL clubs this year alone beacuse of not offering enough money meants that being in the top 2 in the state is a silly comment. I could name 100 examples without copying an pasting of players we have missed out on over the last 10 years because they were offered more elsewhere.

Your correlation between Jervois/Goolwa and Zac are inaccurate Ape. I could list plenty of clubs that pay more than Jervois and Goolwa. And my list would be accurate! You dont have to scroll through this forum for long to read what clubs in the south east are paying. Other GSFL clubs are on par or paying more than Goolwa. Langhorne for example.

I don't know Zac so I speak with no authority, but I know for a fact that Goolwa and Jervois pay big money.

Is is a goose? Some of the guys wont be happy with their names being on a public forum and linked to big bucks but if you are absolutely despaerate to know i could PM them to you. you probably can come up with a few yourself if you think of some Goolwa lads playing elsewhere currently

How would ur list be accurate? Do you work as the treasuer at many football clubs?

It would be naive to think Zac went there for anything but the money. His mates dont play there and i personally received a message from him asking me my thoughts on the club. Im sure Simon Dennis is a very impressive speaker and Goolwa are a club that have plenty of potential to improve so if Zac wants a challenge then hes gone to the right place! Hes not there for love tho Dutchman.

A few of these lower clubs this year i think will challenge the top sides. Selective recruiting coupled with lists seemingly not changing a lot will bring the standard up and will make the GSFL a great comp this year!

I said Goolwa and Jervois were two of the highest, not the highest. They would be in the top 10% wouldn't they?

And for the record, I would love to see Ewer do good things for Goolwa. But to build a club you need to get more than a couple of years out these recruits. We've seen a lot of guys come and go from the GSFL in recent years.
