Didn't train, but has signed.

Big recruit couldnt make the 1st session?

Only 1 of our recruits trained last night. The others had legitimate excuses like illness and being interstate. A few boys (eg Yeomans and Dunbar) working as well.

How old is Yeomans LF?

Yeoy is only young. I think he is 21 or 22.

Tough times for Pongy and 2nd year coach Benny "The Prince". Confiming that big fella and quality bloke Shane Sterzl has signed at Jervois, along with favourite son Michael Thomlinson (gun), plus the shock exit of a Hutchinson (Wade... the worst of all the Hutchies).

All mates with Deacon (co- coach with Sammy Mahoney @ Jervois and ex Myponga player/coach), would not like to be in his or his families shoes when the pongy mafia have their next family meeting/ in-bread relly bash.

Don't be surprised if you wake up with a horses head in your bed Deac's... or more likely a cows head.... mighten be a bad time to make the move to Jervois for good mate, you now have a young family to consider

If Ewer is that good, why would Jervois let a zero point player leave and then go and recruit 3 Pongy players for 3 points each and would have to be serious money, to break the Mudlark ties? The silly season is really getting going now!

Zacs been at jervois for 4 years! one thing to jervois credit is, they wont hold any players... If a player wants to leave they will support the player!

Going to another league there is nothing the original club can do anyway! Unless you owe fees to the club!!

Those losses will cut deep with Ben Princi and Myponga. How many points does Jervois have to recruit, as Braidwood, Tomlinson, Sterzl & Hutchinson = 12. Do River Murray have a different system? Our top clubs only have 11 to play with.
Is Deacon coach or asssitant?

[color=#BF0000] wow... regardless of how many points they have or haven't..... can they all FIT in the team ... sometimes so many players just doesn't work! have Pongy recruited anyone to cover the huge loses over this summer? I believe Juice has also gone to the SFL (Brighton I think?)

Big Juice is going back home to the Bombers, correct.

I reckon the decision makers at Pongy would be spewin' that they have lost some very good contributors, and some great guys to have around the club, but sayin' that, I'm not sure that they don't deserve what they get....?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Larks but when you sack a guy that has stuck with the club through thick and thin, and has brought alot of quality people into the place, you would of thought that they would replace him with someone that has a proven coaching record, and has a list of guys that are willing to follow him. Nothing against Benny "the Prince" either, but a pretty bad club decision I would of thought.

A quick one on Zac Ewer, is he the type that will embrace playing for a club that has to play out of their skin this year to make the 5, I mean he's been involved in a very successful program for a while now, will he handle getting pumped by 10 - 15 goals?

Huge loss for Willunga.... One of the Demons absolute colt figures, a key posistion player has taken a job out of the area and isn't pulling on the big red V for season '09. He has the respect of everyone at the club and hope that in time will return to monster opposition forwards once again.

Just a quick one on the Pongy boys finally someone has the balls to stand up and say "i'm out of here will be back when you learn to run a club properly".I believe the Larks except mediocrity far to easy and are just happen to show up on the day.

On Ewer, its an interesting question Jingles but its important to remember that prior to 2004 Jervois hadn't won a flag since 1986 and hadn't produced a mail medalist since 1981 so those sort of players obviously went out there for a challenge. Hopefully after a mail medal and 5 flags Zac is ready for a 'new' challenge. I think its a credit to him that he has taken up the challenge. I know a lot of people will say that money was the motivating factor, but surely there also has to be some passion for football to play at a struggling club. Wouldn't it be great to see some of the gun Willunga players do the same thing in their latter years. Imagine Hams after several flags and leading goal kicker trophies playing at a lesser club. Would he be as dominant? Should we give him a call?

Yes a sad loss for Demonland and will be a great pick up for which ever club is lucky enough to secure his services. Hopefully Moose will be back in the not to distant future. =D>

However, 2009 is a new season and Grape Ape suspects that there may be new cult figure emerging at Demonland. "The Gooch" has done nothing but impress me and after what I saw today, I think may be developing a bit of a man crush. ^:)^ WOW!!

So your saying that paid players (after 5 premierships) are purely about money and nothing else?

Jervois players - Absolutely! And I think players leaving Jervois for more money proves the point. There are plenty of challenges closer to home. How many of the Jervois 'Panthers' will be there in 10 years time? I'd be very surprised if any of them were still involved with the club.
