So far so good at the bay, although two missing players were owen and raymond love who have been telling people that bassani has set them up on the sydney swans list which is laughable but if thats what they wanna tell people let them go for it.

Good to hear Cuzzy.

Bassani is at the Swans, the Campbelltown Swans tho haha. Do you think they will move to Sydney to play footy Cuz?

Woulda been tough in that heat last night aswell, im not envious at all that you boys started last night!

i wouldnt be suprised if they do go over to sydney and stay with bass and play footy. To be honest it would be a loss as owen and ray were both good players but they did not want to train and expected everything from the footy club so as much as sad to see them go if their heart is not in the club they are probably not worth chasing.
I was talking to Raymond the other day and he also told me he and Owen were moving to Sydney.

Poor Ben Cousins. His return to AFL football has been overshadowed by football's biggest mystery. Where will Thompson (who hasn't played since he was 10) and Fox (who has played about 5 games in 3 seasons) suit up this year. I tell you what, its real heart in the mouth stuff. My cheque book is out in anticipation.

In other news we start pre season in just over 1 hours time. All you blokes who are surfing the forum or are on facebook, get down to Goolwa Oval at 6 for a 630 start!!! If i can do it (or attempt to) then most of you can.

Scoreboard:

Pre-season 1 Bridges 0

32 out for the first night, which was good. No major faces out as yet but a few nice suprises with a couple of boys coming back to footy after being in exile for a few years. Nothing too over the top, but a solid first up run.

While everyones warming up for preseason, which team has the longest drought since celebrating the grand old flag. Can some one shed some light on which supporters have suffered the most ?

Thats great numbers for a first session, hopefully those numbers can continue and even build. After speaking to a couple of the lads they seemed pretty happy with what was going on around the place. Even said a full working bee was going on in the visitors change rooms at Goolwa!!
Big Sammy Jones did train. Now to see if Alex Jones will joing him on the training track.

How are all the ovals looking around the traps?
The Onkaparinga Council has done an audit of all 16 ovals in their area.
The McLaren Oval is the softest....and it is pretty hard...but in real good nick.

Victor - Not great very hard and people have used it as a rally track and left tyre 'ruts' on some areas.
Goolwa - For the situation and water quality Goolwa has is great, good covering and not too bad under foot. The cricketers could tell you more.

Goolwa Oval is pretty good nick considering that we have had no rain. Harvesting the storm water from the lake at the back of the oval has probably saved it (see article attached)

What has Ewer done in footy to be such a gun recruit and who does not turn up to the first training? Any other "recruits" out?

Only 1 of our recruits trained last night. The others had legitimate excuses like illness and being interstate. A few boys (eg Yeomans and Dunbar) working as well.
