If Feasty said i'll come to your club but i can only play 8 games for between $600 & $700 ($800+ is a bit over the top even 4 the creek $-) ) who wouldnt take him. Finally someone to take it to Steele & Thomas. Willungas on ballers wont be used to the occassional tap going the other way, pilmore may even have to teach Portlock & co about defence

Could you imagine Baxter kicking out from Full Back, your trainers would be working overtime putting dislocated fingers back in from all the mungrel punts.

I'll alter that statement after Shane Fox just came through work this morning for a coffee & confirmed that Leigh Hirst is on board at the Magpies, he would have been a big loss.
Might just touch on the man himself, Foxy was looking in tip-top shape, big unit & assures me he has the km's in the legs for the upcoming season. Did say he wasn't a confirmed starter anywhere, who is going to pick him up?? Is 0 point player too, i believe he said.

Thanks for clearing that up Kappars, Chief will be at training tonight no doubt up in the front runners too.
I seen Thompson in the gym last night looking in good shape and having a good perv. His cario looked good after a few k's on the ergo he didnt even break out a sweat then was doing a few weights to add some weight, with a few kg's on him he will be very handy. Word is he may follow Chief and play at Goolwa would be a very hand guy to have come into the club as a 0 point player.

why dont you call him?
TW- did have a yarn to Thompson over the weekend, but was unsure where he would be residing which is making it hard to come to a decision about where to pull on the boots.
Is looking a lot bigger, said weights were off-limits for golf but now he has canned that idea it won't be hard to bulk up (he needs it as he can be injury prone) but he is the type of bloke who can run all day off the wing.
Tw- why dont you thompson and hirst revive the saints in '09?

maybe you could work on getting carnevale back to the club as well...
with all due respect, goolwa/port elliot alway have a lot of hype each year and still haven't managed to get it working...always seem to have a few nice ins but lose a couple of locals each year and injuries seem to be a huge blow for them as well...

Injuries have hurt them a bit in the past few seasons and depth is a problem when you start to get injuries, I think that 90% of Goolwas hype over the past has been from outsiders looking in and just looking at things such as in's and dont consider the guys who they have lost.

it sounds like they may need to get mick mccardle involved in the club again...i know a lot of people seemed to be happy he had left the club but on the field they seemed to go down hill after he'd left - and treated pretty badly the couple of seasons afterwards by other committee memebers! i know he has a lot of sponsor contacts and also a few contacts in town himself for recruiting...i believe that may have been where simon dennis came from in his original playing days for them...
it would be great to see the club move forward and get some wins on the board, a group of the locals seem to stick together there but slowly each year 1/2/3 of them seem to go else where chasing for a few wins more then anything..
