I'd prefer not to mention that on here, but let me assure you that it is not very much at all... Enough to get your night started is about it...

I have been led to believe that MV's 'base' is in the vicinity of $50 per game.

I also heard a rumour that Langhorne Creek was paying B graders $20 per game. Is that true?

Not quite right GA.. LC B graders get a $10 voucher to use at the bar or canteen if they win.. not much but it keeps everyone around for a drink.

Part is paid in a drink voucher, as if it wouldn't go over the bar anyway, but even with that still under $50.

i think you will find most clubs are about 50 a game but some clubs are club dollars which encourages people to stick around on a sat night

at our club we get 30 dollars for a win, i think an incentive for a win is a great idea!when we get our money we ALL put it in a pot and the captain gets jugs of beer all night n it all goes back over the bar .to the club !!!.its a great night knowing youv had a win and EARNT your money !! paying locals win loose or draw is a joke weres the **** loyalty gone these days ?? what are we teaching the next generation of locals at our clubs? to play for money and not pride?.im a bit old school but to play for your club you grew up at with ya mates you went to school with and hang out with every weekend would be enough of a payment for me !! other peoples views will be different but thats mine!! .ferg is a great player but hes gotta keep it real money or pride .im guessing he would loose alot of respect that hes earnt from goolwa supporters n players if he decides to stay signed with the bays ,he did play junior footy there but i thought he was pretty tight with the goolwa lads !,id love to be at the game against the bays with old mate ozzie on the side line ,priceless
and on another subject, teamwork, i think you need to change your forum name to something else cause teamwork doesnt fit the bill. if ya have flat tires mate just change them and drive up the road to victor im sure they will pay for the repairs, cause goolwa wont pump them up anymore !!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) pride not payment !

Well said Livefooty, If your a local living in the town you should b proud enough to represent your town and the jumper let alone worrying about money. Fair enough getting bar vouchers after a win cos it gives gd incentive for the locals and keeps everyone together after the game after a gd win.
fair enough giving local blokes that have to travel down from town a bit of petrol money.Willunga, Creeks and Strath must have a gd thing going cos they seem to always have plenty of numbers and be successful every year.

Thats all a good point LF! The thing is if I go by your theory apart from not playing at victor as a Jnr I went to school with all the Victor guys and they are the mates I train with and hang out with 6 days out of 7 so this talk about pumping up tyres is rubbish, if you actually spoke to someone from Goolwa or Victor you would know that I dont even want to speak about it to anyone apart from mates.

Talk of Creeks last season was others speculating. I was coaching at Goolwa as you know and was never going to leave that. I see how it could be a slap in the face to some lads but is it a slap in the face to the others you have grown up with and hang out with more than anyother group to never play a game of football along side them only against them?
As for who's next thats crap! As LF will tell you from our conversations Victor is just something I am looking at and if I choose not to play for Victor Goolwa it will be, I am sure I will be happy at either club. The main reason for change now is based on the points system I am looking to have a good season of footy and with the current points system I am a 0 point player at any club, if I am to play with mates at Victor at some point now seems like a good time to move based only on points value.

My advice to Victor then would be to not offer any.

If indeed you just want to play with mates you'll play for free.

I see in the Times today that Encounter Bay, Willunga and a team consisting of umpires are compteting in a GSFL running event at the VH Trots on Sunday? Any other clubs involved? We couldn't make it, we have a bus or 2 heading off for a day at the Strath Cup.
