In my book Adam Hunt would be lucky to be in the top 5 best ruckman in the GSFL and now we are saying that he should be playing AFL. I only see him play twice a year, but I've seen him stitched up by part timers. On a different note you Saints boys are quiet. Isn't it time to let us all know about the monster sponsorship deal you have secured. Move over Langhorne Creek is the wrod on the street.
dont know what street your on as it dont matter how much money you got, what does matter if you can hold your list toghther and continue to top up like Creeks and Willunga that is where the points system becomes great for the top sides as these top sides are allocated 3 less points per game than the bottom side (their good luck).
I've asked this question before and I'll ask it again:
Has any GSFL club NOT recruited someone because of the points system?
Clubs recruit within their points allocated and whilst the gap between top and last is so close with the points system, the gap between top and last will never close ,take the current gap between Creeks and Saints on the ladder , for the Saints to get close to the Creeks they would need to field a team with alot more recruited players than what they are currently allocated
There is a player that would be playing with me next year if it wasn't for the points system, has played A Grade on and off for a few years at a top SFL club but is not a player that you would pay, therefore would find himself in the 2's each week to keep us under the points sytem.
The saints are a very young side, average age would still only be 21 and with four quarters of footy in 2008 would have won plenty more games, they just need to find that winnng mentality and put together 4 quarters of footy so i think it is unfair to say that they need 'alot more recruited players', a couple of big men and another gun rover would be enough to see the saints climb the table in 09.
