Fourth spot, however, is well and truly up for grabs this year and it's very competitive throughout the mid-table. It'll be one of South, Nuri and Willaston. Money is probably on Willaston at the moment especially seeing their effort against Freeling. Nuri are pretty hit and miss so I don't think they'll make it. South have played all of the top three already so there'll be a few wins in the latter part of this round.

watching the freeling willaston game on the weekend i thought willaston were the better side for 3 quarters and IMO next time they play will knock them off, coach kitch stansborough is a very astute man. willaston are still only starting to gel having picked up quite a few players at the start of the season and will only improve IMO

i think that is not true. if you have seen all of freelings game you would know that there football on satday was at about %25 of what there capable of. there forward line entry was to slow. and there midfield was lacking it zing due to some players feeling under the weather.

the forward line entry still wasnt as slow as the forward line itself, with the likes of schmidt up there with his blistering pace

he might not the best quickest player going around but when theball is kicked to him rite (quickly kicked into the forwardline) he is effective.

Cheers BoundaryRider!
Actually quite a number of players missing.
No Liam Smith from Barossa (10 goals in a game this year and one of the best set of hands in the comp!), no James Cobbledick or Tom McKinnon from Kapunda (it seems Luke Foster's name is again getting him places), Kirk Kirvan from Freeling perhaps (borderline) and (amazingly!) Reece Ferrett and Jeremy Zimmerman from Tanunda, the only two players giving a yelp for their 17's this year!

Now I look again who the hell is Sam Toole??? Has featured in best players once this season (3rd rd 1 v Angaston) if I were Ferrett, Zimmerman or Gattermayr I think I'd (rightly) be a little pissed off!

Who of these kids has played A's this year??

Any who have played A's miss out??

Also dont forget you cant fit everyone in... The teams that are getting flogged every week are lucky to have anyone in let alone multiple players I would have thought!

Who is caoaching this Side?

Tim Brown-Pichugin from wfc is missing from that list. His name was annouced at the club last weekend. I've watched him play and he is very good. A fast paced game with quality all around him will suit him to a tea.

James Cobbledick from Kapunda is the only one I know of the top of my head that has played A's and missed out. Should be a starting half back flank that kid. There has to be a rep from every side regardless of how their side is travelling. I believe (not 100%) that the coach was going to be Matt Herrmann this year.

noticed last week someone suggested adam schmidt... where is his name in the freeling group that were asked to try out...

also wondering on peoples views on whether or not they think the team will be biased seeing as the coach is one of the team coaches... thought it might be a gwd idea to get a different person within the association to coach...

Adam Schmidt is more of a cult hero. Can kick a goal but lacks the pace and height to be a key forward in a rep side.
Previously Dave Berry has coached the 17's side and he's a GC bloke as well. I don't think there's been any bias previously and the GC lads named deserve to be there. Hopefully it stays the same.

yeah i figured... not paying him out or anything but ive heard his size is his only enemy...

any ideas why Dave doesn't want to job again this year... yeah looking at the best players id have to agree that the GC lads deserve it... a few people from other sides that been regulars in the best players can be pretty dissappointed...

I agree there. Reece Ferrett, Jeremy Zimmerman, Liam Smith, James Cobbledick and Tom McKinnon have been cheated IMO. Not sure about the Berry thing. I can't actually confirm that he's not doing it again, I've just heard whispers that Herrmann was doing it.

Yeah with those lads missing out tho, would many of them make the side... maybe one or two... cos their position might be taken by more adequate players... cos none of those would make it in the midfield and the rest of the team will be hard for them...

What are everyones thoughts about the lads who don't play 17's but still get to play in the under 17's association team... would have thought that if they have committed to play in the a's means they don't want to play 17's so why should they get the privilage of playing in the selected squad...

IMO he would be allowed to play as long as when he wasn't playing in town he played 17's... see my point is that if they could still play 17's yet they haven't considered playing 17's why should they have the privilage when they don't what to play in that age group anymore... if they want to play in the association team then i think they should have at least played 3 games in that age group... because you don't see the central districts players getting a gig in the team...
