Actually Quac... I mean Footy Boots, I didn't do any tips! Sounds like Barossa may have had some matchup issues on Saturday.

Looks like you tipped very poorly with none, Dizz.

South certainly surprised me with a massive win over Angaston.
With 8 goal scorers with 5 kicking multiple goals looked to have found some form.

Positive stuff for Kapunda with Justin Zanandrea kicking 5 goals and best on ground.
Will face Nurioopta next week and if Kapunda play as good as they did should be in for a very good chance.
Also good to see Robbie Modistach kicking 5 goals against Willaston in a losing effort, some positives there for the tigers.

Freeling also performed well against Barossa keeping Liam Smith and Jack Madgen to one goal each.
Ashley McCard has been a real star down at full back for the Legs forcing Smith to work up into the midfield to get a kick.
Freelings forward line worked very well yesterday with Jake Martin, Adam Schmidt and David Drummond looking very solid.
Midfield which includes Doherty, Barnes, Kirvan and Angus Martin also executing quite well, especially without Aaron Cocks who has chosen to have a run in the A grade.

I didn't do any tips this week Hancock! Agree that Kapunda are a chance against Nuri if they play as they did Saturday. Very, very interested in the South Gawler v Barossa matchup.

I mean the tips you've posted on here Dizz.

Still amazed that Nuri managed to get done by Willaston. I think the Donnybrooks are in for a reality check this Saturday against Freeling. So far the Brookers have played Tanunda (9th), Kapunda (8th) and Nuri (5th, I consider them a bottom 4 side) which has probably made them look a lot better than they are. That being said, they could prove me wrong by knocking the Redlegs this week. This Blake Rogan looks to be a player.

willaston aren't getting too carried away they are an improving side and know they played some of the lower placed sides in the first few rounds although i wouldn't write nuri off. the donnybrooks have have added half a side to their line up this year and will no doubt be a threat to your prediction this week.

I will be very interested to see the result. Currently I have the Brooks pencilled in for 5th spot. What's the story there Boots? Who will Freeling be missing?

Just interested in your guys thoughts. If a under 17 is required to play A grade should he play under 17s first?

norm, i think it depends what role he has to play in the a grade, if hes starting he shouldnt play 17's but if is selected to sit on bench as say the 21st player then he should play all the 17's

Footy head I seem to recall Lachlan Heinrich of Freeling playing in the Under 17's Association game despite not having played under 17's at all in 2006 so I think they'll be right to play in it. You would have to think Shaun Lay will be a starter but we'll know more when the squad is released.

I think you'll find he also did it in 2005 as well dizzee. In fact in 2005 2006 and 2007 there was a large contingent of players that played in the 17s association game that had cemented their spot in their respective clubs A grade sides, so I wouldn't have thought the selectors stance on this would have changed and any A grade player young enough would be considered for selection

Certainly. I would think it's a given that the selectors would be after the best Under 17 1/2 players in the league regardless of whether they're playing A's, Ressies or 17's.

Who are people tipping to be in the side from their respective clubs?

wouldn't get too carried away with your redlegs, that was a pretty mediocre level of under 17's footy last year... I would be interested in the stats of how many of the 189+ players from last year will go on to play A grade footy this year, certainly not too many AFL products from my limited knowledge.

Richard Hayman played one game against Centrals and is currently playing for his school team Emanuel.
Aaron Cocks didn't play against Barossa Districts on Saturday and made his decision to play A grade for the rest of the year, whether he will return for the finals, we don't know. Although he injured his Arm int he first 2 minutes of the A grade game.
