OnSong wrote:This is a disaster for the club hosting Angle Vale twice as it will smash their home game budget to pieces.

Probably cost them well into the thousands of revenue, gate, canteen, bar etc.

Which is Two Wells. Ouch

Better off having the bye

Don't think apfl would leave angle vale fc out In the cold. Unfortunately angle vale will suffer from gate takings and bar/ canteen takings.

Good to see you sticking up for Angle Vale Norm. Unfortunately the same can't be said in reverse when it comes to you!!! The club needs to get its act together quick smart otherwise there won't be a club!!

On a pre season note.
Any clubs done 1km time trials this pre season? Two wells have and Bryce hart is running ridiculous times.
Anyone from other clubs beat a 2:54 1km?

That is in line with the world record marathon pace. If he can hold that for another 41.2km he is a chance of breaking it.

I see Pollock is also on the move now! Is everything going alright at Virginia? That's the best CHF, FB and one of the best RR going around in any league all leaving at the same time!

I happened to be driving past Gawler South oval and couldn't believe that there was a game of footy on . I was even more shocked when AV were playing and two thirds of the oval had cars parked around it - massive turnout

Any idea who they played LMc? The opposition were wearing predominantly red, with black and what looked like spider web. If I had to guess I would say they were at least Div 6 or 7.

I watched about 20 minutes. During that time AV kicked 2 goals and the opposition didn't score. I didn't get a real lot out of it, but noticed a couple of standouts for AV. In particular, number 14 was small/mid sized left footer, onballer/HBFlanker that moved well and looked very handy - he stood out above all else. They were calling him "Izzy" - it may well be that Isiah Glancey listed on sportingpulse clearance page. They also had a very small, lightly built young indigenous lad who was lightening quick off HB. He had good skills, was electric and rotated with #14 on ball. They also have a few at the opposite end of the spectrum which most would expect given that it was the first week of March. Nonetheless, they were having a fair crack and were ultra competitive with their tacking and pressure.

Ladder predictions for 2017
United - Big improver with numerous quality INS, with T. Beard the only notable OUT.
Mallala - A several big OUTS in Osborn, Farrelly, Whitwell and Cocks. May slip further if unable to fill the ruck void.
Balaklava - Big OUTS replaced with big INs - Lachy Michael, McCurry, Whisky etc
Two Wells - could easily finish higher if they stay fit and the big gun up forward fires.
Virginia - lost quite a few but you never know how many of the veterans will play on
Angle Vale - unknown
Hamley Bridge - unknown

Where is Osborn headed?

For me:
Mallala - still the team to beat (with a full side)
Two Wells - seem a very tight team and likely to improve on the last few years if they can take a break with injuries
United - Coach Kreig taking them in a great direction, also a few big ins
Balaklava - Will remain competitive without being quite there but will challenge sides at their best

HWE - based on current ins/outs on sporting pulse, should remain similar
Virginia - again based on clearances, will take a massive hit (does the salary cap have anything to do with this?)
Hamley - improve slightly but still easy beats
Angle Vale - will definitely improve. Very interested so see just how much
