gee, thats nice isn't it, we have a couple of new signings for the first time in years and it's all to do with heaps of cash. how many guys have you signed KWF this year! i got told from a rambler person that you didn't need or want them.

I agree it mightn't necessarily be coin the boys are after, all of the mentioned players that seem to be headed to cougars, the only payment they would care about is an endless supply of draught after the game. Bunch of pissheads :)

We played really well and most looked fit, which is more than we could say about them, Half of them were B graders and they were nearly all still half cut from the night before.

i'm not sure where ya got that score line from daicos, not that it matters, but the roosters only kicked 8 goals for the match. 8.5 to 2.5. your right tho most players looked very fit and they played a good running game but opposition were well understrength so its hard to read too much into it

The Whites defeated us by 8 shots in the grandy on Satdy. Too good for us with Yabby's and Greeny's rinks going down badly, Reincks just down by 2 shots and only Shades up (by a truckload)
Tried everything to console myself - Beer, Ouzo, Cruisers, Southern Comfort and then more beer and finally hit the jackpot with Bob and me knocking off a bottle of Sambooka in Shades's shed.
Thank Ch***t there was plenty of footy and grand prix racing on TV yesty cos I did nothin else.

So with the pre-season cup we play 4 games in 8 days? including back to back games on Thurs and Fri nights. And on the final friday night there is a 3rd v 4th game, I can see that being a huge game and everyone wanting to play in that having played two games the week before AND a game the night before.
Does anyone else think this is poorly organized and poorly programmed?

Has anyone seen the programme for round 1? have waybacks finished whinging about it yet?

Stoll wont get near a League game for Magpies this year. Still got another 2 lads in Walsh and Hall to back Meikljohn up in the ruck.
Young Streaky lad Luke Carey made his debut for them the other night, sounds like he found the ball a few times too, and also good too see Luke Harder in among the best players also!

I played against him last year andf thought Stoll was a real raw talent. It may not be this season but he will make it and possibly get drafted.

They also have Scott Lycett who is a year younger and a real talent.

In speaking to Stollys old man he will probably play the majority of the year in the reserves after maybe starting the year in the U18s. Then, "if the planets align and depending on his form and the injuries incurred to other players during the year he MIGHT sneak in a league game during the year".

I spoke with a wayback official that I work with and 'ALLEGEDLY' to host a game at ravendale waybacks would get 25 cents from every can sold at the can bar only. Sell 600 cans = $150, less 1 staff payment to man the bar 4 hours at $20 cash = $80.
So Waybacks host a game and make $70.

First round of the PLFL must be a mystery round. You have to guess where your side is playing and who. wonderful prizes on offer if you get it right. what a great initiative from the PLFL

why doenst the league want to progress the port lincoln brand of football into a new era, and programme a game every friday night, even though it being ravendale, the only thing it has going for it is to play night games here, day time footy has proven to be a faliure due to the oval facing the wrong way in to the sun from both ends, and the afternoon 40 knt winds off proper bay destroy the crowds attendance. this has proven successful for Pt Augusta for years and it does work in the favour of getting sales through the gate or bumbs on seats if you will. It has been proven for trial games and first and second round games that spectators and opposition attend these night programmed games, good to see your opposition play from a side line view and study the competition rather than just fronting up to each other three times a year and going by how you played them 5 weeks prior. All clubs should be pushing this concept to the league should they want more revenue for their clubs regardless the end result or dollar figure. Lincoln clubs are too wrapped up with whos going to benefit from an event and venue surrounding the game of football in port lincoln, and why they should support the club thats hosting that game that weekend, its petty and pathetic and not in the spirit of our great game at all. Would it not be better to play a game friday evening, have the rest of the weekend to spend to yourself, go to another game the next day, head great flinders way and watch another competitions brand of the game, or if you will head out for a bender after the game and take two days to get over it watching AFL on the couch should you desire.
"If you programme it, they will come ". My opinoin anyway !!!!

Last year Waybacks were offered the can bar with all proceeds to them in the spirit of the game and to foster (parden the pun) good relations it was a pretty cold day and they ran out of cans of scotch and coke twice they must have made some
money that day !!! Speaking to Tom Milton they are more than happy for waybacks to utilise Ravendale or any club, its now owned by the community. I hope GFFL get behind Tumby with their night games

from a personal point of view....if I had a choice to play at Centenary or Ravendale - I'd pick Centenary every day...for a number of reasons but one being the ability for our older supporters to park in their car at any stage of the day and view the footy. Finals are played on centenary - so the more games there the better!

I can also understand the benefits in playing at Ravendale, especially under lights on Friday nights.... in the last two years we have played two cracker games against Tasmans (both played early in the season) - big crowd, perfect weather and interaction upstairs after the game - until the early hours of the morning!!

So I totally agree with the Friday Night games @ Ravendale in May.... but financially it needs to be viable - especially if you are giving up the potential for home game bar takings at Centenary, and an empty bar on the Sat. night.....

A few night games in May is about right. No point in playing night games down there in the middle of winter. I say give Tasmans a couple of home night games and thats it.
