How many reside in M P and Echunga. I know to the dollar what Motlop and Jarman get and you are so far off the mark its laughable. I for one like many believe money is killing footy and the only way you can kind of police that is to put the player payments through the books - give them group certs and then say to clubs right you must play 18-19 local players out of 21 or 22 each week. - 3 imports only. They do this in a couple of leagues I have seen in Vic and it works quite well. FYI you will find that the ATO auditors are now starting to look harder at local clubs and guess who is going to be responsible for accounting practices and tax avoidance - cash payment- issues. You guessed it Committees and Presidents. As the economy tightens things will change all for the better hopefully.

Coromandel Valley isn't to far from Ironbank either  .

Ironbank have built quite a good junior set-up , helped by the fact Blackwood and Mount Lofty ( the club with the greatest junior set up of all time - according to them when trying to stay in central ;) ) often have kids leave and meet in the middle at Ironbank.

Sure it is a winter sport but when you are in the Adelaide Hills drainage for your oval is an essential requirement.

On a positive note - Echunga should be used to it after playing at Blackwood and their boggy oval last week.

Can't wait to get back on the home deck!

yeah blackwood is resembling something from the western front - worst it has been in a while

Surely this is a joke? Good on Echunga for upgrading their drainage, but seriously stop going on about how good your facilities are, you've made your point and no one cares. This isn't the AFL, it's hills footy. Ovals are going to get muddy, deal with it.

On a side note, I would have thought a lot of ovals are still under the control of the council, so it's not the clubs responsibility to pay for upgrades to the oval.

About time someone told this bloke where to go.

Looks like a very important game next week with Echunga taking on Barker at home. Can Echunga take 2nd spot?

Just saw some pics on facebook of U15's & U17's. Hate to think how bad it was for the A's. When they merge with Birdwood they'll have 3 ovals to choose from so hopefully they can save 1 for games during winter.

In 2012 the Bridgewater Oval suffered badly from rain deluges in the week before two consecutive home games and the oval became unplayable. The club made a decision (in conjunction with the HFL) to move the remaining home games to an alternative venue.

Having seen Mt Torrens oval first-hand a fortnight ago, and then seeing the photos on the LFC pages, I think a similar decision must be forced upon TV.

It was a case of spot the grass and pick the smell. Love hearing all the old blokes saying that is what they played on every week, but we are now in 2014 and it is substandard and unacceptable.

Not to mention there being no hot water for the visitors 3 showers and hot water for the home 3 showers. Seen Lobethal players leaving in their cars still covered in mud to presumably go back to Loby for showers?
Also very disappointing from a Torrens Valley forward, I won't name names (juice head with stupid looking tattoos all over him) in the way he yelled and abused a young goal umpire on the day. The young lad volunteered to do it after Torrens Valley couldn't supply a goal umpire ( think he was suspended for cheating) and the mouthful of inappropriate language hurled at this 14 year old lad was discussing. I hope some action is done after this, because it is volunteers like that would keep those money hungry gorillas getting a game. Second rate club with second rate facilities and people. Enough said.

Big results in the relagation race : Bridgy and Torrens Valley getting 20 points. Echunga 10 points.

Tigers were not good enough on the day so yes they lost, however winning or losing is not the topic Willie......when you leave a club feeling disgusted and hoping you never have to go back there again it is not good for hills football. Listening to the language of most of the coaches from all grades aimed at their own players is a disgrace. And no one should have to hear the words yelled by the full forward towards the young goal umpire, who should be proud of himself for staying out there after such intimidation. Their are some good people at Torrens valley unfortunately they are out numbered by too many numb nuts.

Must admit.Driving back into Balhannah oval for presentations didn't smell very good either after 5 games.Considering how much water was on the oval Friday morning it held up well.

Hills League all over this one - be interesting to see the outcome.

Not sure there is much of a difference between 2nd and 3rd spot? Unless you consider the home change rooms a big advantage both teams end up with a double chance in the finals. Echunga would love the points with the relegation battle they are facing
